  1. The color of easter makes the sound of cats sound beautiful. There is nothing more pertinent than the feeling of joy and happiness at the sight of something perfect. There’s only so much you can accomplish in life, realize it’s all achievable…if you just can. It’s all there. The color of hope and calm…independence. success.

    Emily
  2. Pastel.
    I love to draw.
It gives me this feeling that if I leave this earth at least my art will be here.
    Colors.
    Beautiful colors.
I really should work on my art.

  3. Soft colors that make me feel nice. Subtle. Calming. Nothing bright, nothing obnoxious. Just serenity; a peacefulness. I love pastels. I wish I could draw with pastels. Wish I could be an artist. With pastels.

  5. pastel colors are my enemies or so it seems or so it could be. pastels have never been my favorite, reminding me of easter and spring and ugly things like disease and hospitals. of all the colors I dye my hair it’s never been pastel, always the darker brighter bolder colors of warriors and not of this.

  6. pastel brush strokes swiped acroos the fabric, the wheels, the bleached wood reaked of suburban wanna be”s,customed ordered at four hundred dollars a pop. 7. the color of flowers and sunshine and spring. I’m stressed to write about this because I don’t know that much about it. I do know that this trend in spring is to wear pastel and try to look grunge or whatever. I think there are some colors that are pastel colors that are quite pretty. I think it’s a good genre of color.

  8. I thought of you in pastel and that hurts. I should have known you were still black smeared, rotted tar, bitter little chunks who aren’t afraid to stack lies to make pavement. You aren’t a fucking Easter egg or a stupid baby’s room, and you can’t love me the way you promised.

  11. It reminds me of the warm summer evenings with Grandma. She loves her some pastels. I wanted to be like her. Then I realized that judgemental and bitterness was not at all me. Pastels don’t cover up the fact that she’s really angry at the world. The colors look sweet, but I know the truth.

  12. I get faded till i turn paste. normally I am peanut butter brown and when I get faded I get a solid..or maybey a not so solid shade of biege…pastel brown…many names it can have…I look like I am ready to take a picture for a easter picture holding eggs petting fluffy bunnies.

  13. all this reminds me of is art
see, my friend is an artist
    a terrific artist
she doesn’t use pastels; she sketches and doodles and paints when she’s up to it
    she’s also quite beautiful herself
but she is so pretty and so wonderful
    (and also so ridiculously smart)
that i feel pretty lame myself
because i am only a writer and a musician

  14. I got my hair cut today at Great Clips. My hair dresser was super cute and nice, and she had bright blonde hair (like the white bleached kind). Her front bangs however were green, and she said she did it with pastel chalk. How awesome. St. Patty’s day for the win! I’m going to do it tomorrow too :)

  15. Pastel… The memories of you. Dry and lacking in color.

  16. Pastels remind me of bright colors. they remind me of the time where i had art class during 6th or 5th grade. all the colors gave me a warm feeling and brightened up my day. they let my imagination loose, let my creativity roam.

  17. i think about easter, and all of the colors that come up like lavender adn pale yellow and light pink. then i think about dying easter eggs with my dad at the appartment in kalamazoo. and we put them in the fridge but we didn’t use any sparkles, whenever we make easter eggs at home its a total mess.

  19. Pastel is a paint in which not just to give color but to express ones self inner emotions and put them on a canvas. Pastels are simple in thier complexity but that only makes them all the more beautiful. Simplicity exuberates what you are made of without trying. Pastels.

  20. Colors swirl back and forth with the gentle strokes of my hand
    I blend them together
Soft charcoal stains my fingers, a beautiful mess of colors
The dust crumbles beneath my hands
    I blend them together
Light colors flutter along the page
Accompanied by their foes and nightmares lining the border
Darker colors compliment the dark untertones of the light ones
    I blend them together

  21. It’s the color I think of when I think of babies. It’s the color that comes to mind when I think of spring. It’s the color of peace of mind and it calms me in a strange way that I can’t explain. As a word pastel is an odd one and I’m not sure if it ever meant anything other than the color pallet but I like it nonetheless.

    Elizabeth
  22. reminds me of easter. light colors. happy cheerful colors. crisp and clean. somewhat preppy. but very elegant looking. very spring time. screams happy and relaxing.

  23. The pastel skies are particularly beautiful at night, as the moon sits in the clouds and colors the blueberry hills a hazy pink/yellow. The light will shine behind the rock house, as we travel up in the dark, and no one will know that it was us who went and called, laughing from the steps of the place we should not be.

  24. pastel colors are really nice. they’re so soft, so pure. They are associated most with easter and small children, innocence. Pastel colors represent innocence and purity.

    Demetria
  26. The chalk is in my hands. I feel the grittiness under my fingers as I squeak my way along the chalkboard. A hand appears, then an eye, now a finely pointed shoe. I look down at my chalky hands and smile as I clap them to clear the dust. A blue and white cloud bursts from my fingers, my eyes capturing the pastel chalk debris dancing in the air. A step backwards widens my vision. Two girls holding hands, their chalky teeth gleaming. Although we have parted hearts, I can still see us in my imagination. Two little pastel girls. Careless. Young.

  27. pastels are the key to art. you can have them when you’re young, then use them with extreme caution and experience when old and wise to create a masterpiece out of what was once in your life considered a childs toy.

  28. When I think of pastel I think of two things. Light pretty colors and dessert. El Pastel means cake in Spanish. That’s what I think about when I hear the word pastel. My favourite pastel color is yellow and peach and light pinks. Pastel.

  29. I used to think they were faded colors. Like they were sad. I always wanted to cheer them up when I was a kid. So I would color around them with bright colors and realized it just would make them fade away. Tragic.

    Laura
  30. Not very bright/vivid, or somewhat dull colors. None the less…pretty and reminds me of easter and painting. Pale colors….baby blue, spring green, yellow, light pink, or faded orange. Colors that put me in a good mood(:

  31. colours I want to wear in spring. I look down at my hands and see the smudges of my favourite colours – purple, orange, red, electric blue and forest green – all smeared into a rich brown. I was brightness in my life. I love a pastel reflection. I don’t look good in pale pastel colours, but I love them. I like brights! Reds that make you blink, blues that stop traffic, greens that make you feel like you’re in another, fresher world.

  40. pastel reminds me of paint. paint reminds me of a picture. a picture is worth a thousand words..but why limit it there? I say a picture is worth a million words. If you think about it, we use words a lot. i mean obviously but with so many ways to express ourselves, why only words? that’s what pastel means to me.
