“So says the kettle.” Thade laughed, poking his sisters’ ribs. Thorn hissed and kicked him. “I’ve never understood that phrase…. why would a pot call the kettle black?” She pouted for a moment before punching her brother. “Stop grinning, you fool.”
A phrase is a short sentence. It conveys a simple idea or common situation. It is often not correct grammatically. Often used to illustrate exclamation or excitement.

“Today’s German phrase of the day is, ‘Heute fange Ich eine diet an.’,” spoke the gentle feminine voice on the radio. Gotta love that AFN.
Sat in a booth, the studio lights shining down with supernova like intensity, threatening to melt Brian into his own incomptence, he was stunned by the pressure of all the expectant faces willing him on to the grand prize. Finally, sweating profusely, he stuttered the words out “I er I aaaaaain’tttt ggggeetttiiiinininin no plane”, before recomposing himself and spitting the word “FOOL” out with passion and victory. Thats the attitude, quipped the bronzed host.
She lept up from the sand and ran down the beach and dived into the water. Just as quickly she ran out of the water and ran up to the dry hot sand furthest from the water and rolled in the hot sand to warm herself up. Then repeated the process over and over again. Water to hot sand to water to hot sand. It reminded her of the phrase from Jack and Jill, “…and Jill came tumbling after.”
She used to sit, all ninety pounds of her, sunk back in a tired seventies couch in the light beside a fire. Her finger, knobby with swollen knuckles, might be poised in the perfect arc before her face, punctuating whatever phrase she was forming behind her lipsticked lips.
The phrase wasn’t right. She sat at her computer looking at the paragraph for long, quiet moments. How do I get this to say what I want? She thought disgustedly. I’ll never finish this book. Never get this done by the deadline. I’ll never be a published writer if I can’t figure this out!
when you start a phrase, you might think you know what you will talk about, but the meaning takes shape right before you speak it, as you struggle to bring yout thoughts to words and to make yourself clear so other will understand that you can do it

a phrase is a description of something, and it would be a phase if it was without the r. Funny how sometimes words hange with just a single letter, lives change within just a single moment. We get so busy coming up with phrases that the phases just pass us by. I wonder how many phrases I have ever written in my 56 years on the planet. There are phrases of the moon as well as phases of the moon. I love a well-turned phrase!

Trawl through my memories, looking for that phrase. You know the one, the one you funny-faced and tongue-twisted out between giggles, the one that made me laugh. Looking under the bed of discontent I find the one that made me restless. Splayed beneath the beanbag of summer, I spy the one that made me dreamy. Dancing naked in the June room, I find the one that made me love you and under battoned-down hatches through a peephole, I stare at the one that made me cry, dressed all in white, reflecting all the phrases of my own.
Phrase what phrase? I mean what’s the point of a phrase if it won’t make you money? Sure, it could make you famous but then what is being famous for if you can’t eat? Can words be eaten can a phrase be eaten. I feel like an absolute sucker right now because I am doing this in the first place. I can write very quickly you know but somehow I get the feeling that I’ve been had.

a phrase… something catchy or inspirational like this one ” one can never consent to creep when one feels an impulse to soar”. A phrase i can never forget , i guess you could say it’s my favorite phrase from Helen Keller!
Taking stock of situation, phrasing is handy as an inroad but maybe not insight. People’s certainties lead to discrepancies which in turn give birth to violence: doubt is the essence of humanity. Doubt leads to questioning, our only truly human trait. Abuse it.
I can’t see how you’re trying for me. This phrase. It makes me wonder if he ever was trying for me, or if I was just a snogging buddy. Was there anything about me that truly drew him to me? Did he really mean it when he said “I love you”? Because I know I did. I have so many questions, but I know that I’ll never have any answers, because I don’t have the courage to ask the questions. Maybe one day I’ll see the light, and I’ll know where I’m supposed to be. Without him.

Phrase
a small phrase
that can turn your life over
Phrase
a phase
that when you obsess
it is over
lost in that very moment…
The phrase stuck in his head, washout baby. He knew that he was exactly that, a washout. The phrase ate at him the whole way home. he wished that he’d never set his eyes on that bulletin board. Now he was going to pound that reminder into his head forever, washout baby.
three words can bring you joy. three words can bring you pain. it’s all in which phrase you chose to employ. choose wisely, lest you break someone’s weak heart.
It always goes to show that no matter what happens, it is always the phrase that pays, you have to have the right phrase in order to get things moving, and changing all at the same time. The phrase has to be short, and catchy.
Ray Blick walked up to the chamber door, knowing the power core of Dr. Diabolical’s evil lair was inside. If Ray could somehow shut down the core, it would no longer be able to power the death ray with which Dr. Diabolical was going to destroy Cleveland.
At the steel reinforced security door, the computer said, “please speak your pass phrase for entry.” Ray thought a moment and then punched through the door. He quickly ran to the power core. He saw the on/off switch. He saw the plug into the wall socket. But he knew he could finish this off with style. He leaned over to the main resistor and hocked a loogey. The short-circuit caused an explosion that somehow failed to kill him, since he was the hero of this story.
but instead, I patiently, loving look into their eyes and ask them more about what they’re telling me.
Listening but not speaking is like carrying about heavy weights all day.

Phrase is often used to help others seem as funny as comedians and comedic shows on tv. We often copy their phrases, forgetting to come up with our original own humor.

The phrase was incomplete as she played her symphony. her fingers trembled as she thought about the decisions she has made. Her life is one, big, incomplete phrase.
I think if I were to phrase up in one word..freedom..one sentence..be it ever so humble there’s no place like home..one picture ..a sunset on a snowy day..a phrase is worth a thousand thoughts.

Phrase, umm… How in the world am I suppost to use the word PHRASE in a sentance?
The phrase “debate” now strikes fear in me. Wasn’t this what I had looked for throughout the last years of my middle school life? Now, the fact that I let my partners down and that I cannot finish my research is not frustrating towards me. I want to swear so much at myself for being such a procrastinator. I just hope they realize that this is not me, but simply a side of me that they have unfortunately seen. This is not my usual self. I am simply buried amidst the chaos and hectic of life. Hope I can get through this soon, without any bruises…
just a muddled brain eyes in a glaze
words unheard created in a haze
if an incomplete thought
makes you distraught
blurt it out i’ll complete your phrase.
I don’t even know where to begin with this. should I elaborate on the word phrase? Or should I say what my favorite phrase is? I don’t even know. This one is kind of frustrating to me because I have absolutely no idea what to write. MUTINY.
That is what you get in a poem, I gues, but I can’t really remember how to put phrases together…..quite odd, how we had to do it in school.
You spell phrase…p h r a s e……I guess you knew that already, huh

i don’t like this word, its ok i guess but i really hate it. This is wery intense, well not wery, but pretty intense. phrase? i don’t use it in a sentence

“Don’t worry, I’ll not make the mistake of taking you for granted,” said the Cat to the Burglar.
The Burglar hadn’t words as they’d been stolen the moment the Cat chose to speak.
“Well, isn’t turn about fair play?” laughed the Cat.
I always find myself not completing phrases. I easily get distracted and the words just blow of into time, forgotten, untouched, unwanted. Never to be said again the same way.
