  1. I am silent and tired with the rest of my family around a chocolate whipped circle, pretending to enjoy and refusing to speak. Makes me remember ten thousand familial get togethers where I hid under the table and pretended I didn’t care they didn’t care. Distant uncles, my parents, one lesbian (one future lesbian hiding under the table as we speak), and a pedophile step-grandfather. Held my breath until it was finally closing time, then we’d pack into the car and forget until next holiday.

  2. Piece of cake! She stumbled into the pastry shop and demanded a piece of pumpkin pie. Hurry up! she yelled as the worker gave her an annoyed glance. It was the eve of Thanksgiving and she needed her pumpkin pie fix before it was consumed by her entire family of 27.

  3. My best friend and I- hysterical, searching, missing. Pop it in the oven- we’ve got thirty minutes to go, wait for crust to rise and fall and capture. Where are we now? She’s sitting at the kitchen table and I’m basking on the floor. First kiss and I rethink myself around a peice of pie.

  5. Pie is something that you simply consume without thinking about it. You eat it all up and then you simply think to yourself, “What was in it?” There are so many different alternatives. There is the all-knowing, famous apple pie, cherry pie, chocolate, etc. Too many flavors

  6. Pie is a delicious combination of sugar and fruit. Usually slightly browned with some fruit bubbling over, it will capture the attention of every one. As the aroma wafts by, you’ll want to stuff the piece of pie into your mouth as soon as you can. Eat up, before it’s all gone and you can then claim none as your own.

  7. Apple, cherry, pumpkin… There are so many kinds. The word makes me think of Thanksgiving, of family and togetherness. A dinner of plump, juicy turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, topped off by delicious fruit in a delicate, flaky crust.

  14. American Pie was an awful film, Apple pie is a very American thing. In fact, pie is simply an American thing. I like some pies as long as the crusts are right. Like a pastry. Not like those biscuity ones. They’re not very pleasant.

  23. Pie? Pie is a rather simple word. I expected something I could do more with than this. But hey what can I do? Ironic cause the sample that I saw WAS pie and that leads me to debate that the only outcome WAS pie. Well I don’t know how much more time that I have so in closing I guess I will just say this is birdman and I love Ali pavese.

  25. It was the one thing that tied my family together. Although we never ate breakfast lunch or dinner together the thought of dessert always brought us running to the dinner table. My mother would make the best sweets that I have ever tasted. My favorite was the blueberry pies that she made us. I would always be the first one to have a piece when they were made. It was a key part of my childhood.
