  7. During my family trip to Peggy’s cove, a deluge of rain poured down on us the whole time we were there. It was very frustrating not to be able to stand on the rocks and enjoy the ocean. I eventually made it to the lighthouse but was drenched. I had to change my clothes in the van on the way to Halifax. I have never seen so much rain pour down in such a short time. Oh well, I guess I will just have to visit Peggy’s Cove again.

  8. it poured all night last night. I love the sound of rain on the roof. Comforting, insulating, makes me happy to have a place to be, a snug bit of earth. Makes me sad for those who don’t have such a place.

  27. i watched as you poured the water on the ground. all that time, that drive to the beach to get it in the first place. picking out the right glass and shape so that i didn’t make a wrong impression. sending it to you so long ago, only to find my way to you, and to it. only to get in a fight with you and watch its contents empty upon soil from the opposite coast. only to watch you get further and further away from me, which i guess you’ve been doing for years now, haven’t you.

  29. Rain pours down. April showers. I’m static, waiting change but welcome the bell jar that’s settled. One of these days it feels that it might all stop and make me aware of the fact that it’s all a joke on me. And then what?
