  9. i wish there was no way to pretend that i could be someone else. but unfortunately there are ways, many ways. sometimes i think that i am many people in one, stuffed into a little box. i don’t like some of the people, but i can’t tell them to get out because we’re like our own private family – self-contained, alluring from the outside. even if no one likes us, then we still have ourselves.

Trying to find out who you were.
And who were you to steal my heart.

Then i realised it was true.
I realised what stole my heart.
    You were just being you.

  11. Let’s pretend nothing happened. Let’s act like we aren’t who we are. Let’s say we still love each other. You liar. You phony. This is not who you are. You are not the man I fell in love with. You are not that great person. You are an ass. You are a fool, and so am I. I ignored the signs. I went along with the games and charades. I acted like you were the man I loved.

  12. Pretend is like to be some one you are not. So one should not pretend and just be what you are. But sometimes you have to pretend like if you are aware of something and you dont want to show it to the other person. you pretend not to know about it.

  14. I pretend to be okay. Or am I still pretending? I think I was pretending to NOT be okay, because breaking up isn’t something you are “OK” about right away. But really, did I care at all? I was being NOT okay for the heck of not being okay, because it seems fake if I’m already over it. Then again, why do I pretend? Why do I care?

  15. pretend you’re a girl while wearing makeup you didn’t buy in a store without a clue for the last money you should have spent on food but now you have to sell stuff on ebay if you dont want to go starving – it’s that or call your bankadvisor with a really bad excuse why you had to withdraw more funds than your credit was able to hold, and thus you pretend all your life – that’s it, I think. Besides from the fact that this might be very, very real to you and not some obscure ramblings of a random guy on the internet who’s pretending he’s not bored shitless since he’s actually writing a load of bullshit like this about you, your life and how you’re pretending to live life on the edge, but really just sitting at home, downloading po

There are some very striking chickens that can end up in the process and the nuggets of hope that they manifest are good in the sauce of the financial meltdown that is wreaking havoc on the rich whitey that is so used to being the Hombre.

As is the case, pretending does not help us–so might as well we spend our energies to create a new form of social art, instead of pretending.
