I drive in my nice car to work at the office, and I greet the lady sitting at the desk who answers the phone as I make my way into a meeting full of people that certainly don’t want to be there. I say hello to all of them as well, and take my seat as the meeting begins, and we discuss the finances of the company. A boring meeting, as usual, but it’s important to the company. When the meeting is over, I head to my office down the hallway from the meeting room.

Artists aren’t meant to be professional. Professionals aren’t meant to be artists. But in order to be an artist I need it to consume my whole being, I need it to be the reason I do everything I do, and I can’t do that until I make art my into profession. You dig? How you fill in the spaces in between is beyond me, but I long for it and I’m working for it.
