  7. my parents are proud of me. got a job. in college. good grades. pride is a funny thing. sometimes it’s a good quality and sometimes it’s bad. but everything in moderation i suppose. i’m just glad that there’s something to be proud of for someone somewhere.

  12. the very essence of race includes pride. you must be proud of what you are, and who you are, but especially of what you embody. race is such a thing that you embody, knowingly or not, consciously or not.

    if pride is not a part of what you embody, then what you embody is nothing to be proud of. and that is not true.

  21. proud is something that probably gets people in a lot of trouble. too proud to say you need something or that you’re sorry. it will get you into fights and say things you don’t mean just to protect it. all for what? what has it every gotten anyone? it’s a positive feeling to be proud, but it also leads to a lot of unnecessary trouble.

    Being proud of oneself for something bad is also not something to be proud of.

    The biggest compliment a child can recieve is when their father says “I’m proud of you”

  24. I was proud of how well I handled the situation with him. I just spoke with my heart and found that I can honor myself without guilt. Feeling proud was more important than giving myself to someone who could not appreciated the pain I had suffered to get there.

  27. I have never really been proud of myself. I can’t be. There’s so much I haven’t done in my life that I wanted to do. I haven’t turned into the daring person I always wanted to be. I’ve just been mediocre. Someday, I want to be good at something. Not even the best, just good. And then I will try to be proud of myself.

  28. sometimes i feel prideful. that frustrates me so much too. I hate that feeling, i want to feel humble. i want to feel humble, but at the same time confident in myself. which i am most certainly not. prideful people irritate me so much, i dont want to be like one of those people.

    i used to be really good at this, i could write something poetic and it was nice.
    well im proud that i could do that. but now im a bit stupid and all i can think of is a robin with his red chest out, like a proud little boy showing his bicycle cut to his friends.

I want to point towards Christ. So often my pride gets in the way! Too proud to speak up…or too scared. But I want to share the deepest part of me with the world.
