I’m proud of what I’ve become; proud to have overcome the stereotype of the female in the construction industry who doesn’t know one end of a hammer from the other; proud to have worked my way up through many years of paying due and proving myself twice as much as any man would have to do; proud of my strength in standing up to those who would say I don’t have the years or gender to do my job.

I was proud the very first time I heard that my friends were all set to graduate from high school. Together we had made it. One whole cohesive group. I was proud the first time someone uttered, “I’m getting married.” I was proud when they said, “I’m pregnant.” I wonder, will I ever be proud of me?

When I think of the word proud, I thinkk of parents and the relationships they have with their children. I mean, father’s are always proud of the athletic son. Mothers are always proud of the daughter who goes off to college. My parents are just proud that I’m me; a simple aspiring writer.

I don’t know why, but proud makes me think about Lee Greenwood. “I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free.”
This also makes me think about the laser show at Stone Mountain. God that is terrible. They always play that song. And the laser presidents…ridiculous.
Denise
I was so proud the day I saw her walk towards me in her wedding dress. She’s all mine, I thought. And I smiled so big that the world was swallowed by it.

I feel proud when I play a song on the harp without error. I love the way I feel when I can do a yoga move and I notice my limps stretched far and wide and beautiful. The way I feel when our house is clean and I see beauty in every corner of the room. I am exstastic about our home and our marriage. So proud! So proud of it all!

Children want mothers and fathers to be proud.
we are supposed to be proud of our nation.
Mean people often have too much pride.
But some pride is needed to have any self confidence at all.
Arrogence perhaps?

Pride is something that I struggle with constantly…and not Because I have too much, but because I feel as though I dont have any. I am not proud of who I am becoming. I am not proud of who I was. I have no pride in the person I am but maybe one day I will. Hopefully pride will not forever be a struggle but a privilege.

Proud to be alive and proud of children. It’s a feeling inside that makes your chest swell. It’s the best thing for any parent or person alive. It’s the most wonderful feeling when you have accomplished a great thing.

His chest swelled upward with pride and a sudden look of final achievement crossed his face.
Jose had done it. For the first time in his life he felt good about himself. Had HE really finished it? Had it really worked? Jose smiled and sighed in relief. This was the first spark of hope he’d ever had as an inventor. His first project that worked.
Marie looked down on him and smiled a smile that said I never did doubt you. She was proud of him.

Proud. Like the look on her mother’s face at her kindergarten graduation. (Insignificant, really, but what a moment for a four-year-old.) Proud, like when she got her first license and her mother saved up the money to buy her own car. Proud, like when she packed that car full of her belongings at age seventeen and stormed off, shouting out the window that she hated Mom.

I am a proud parent of two wonderful children who are growing up to become incredible adults who I know I can be proud of.

It was a moment. A momentous moment, one might say. His hand placed on the shoulder of his son, his eyes welling but not spilling over. He could see that there was more to be done, but who could say what a man would feel when he sees his son triumphant.
He leaned forward, placing a boot on the enemies back and jerked hard to pull the sword free, cleaning it off with his tunic he handed it, hilt first, to his son.
“You’ve earned my respect today,” he muttered gruffly. His son’s eyes lit up and the moment was gone.

My Angel, my friend, such a proud stance
My love, my partner brings me to the center
Each day – a kiss!

I was proud when my daughter was born. Then again when my sun came into the world. But, when my gargoyle was born, it was a different sort of proud–it was like I had accomplished something that no other man could. I had brought a concrete and living creature into the world. How did I do it? Well, I can’t tell you that but if you look over your shoulder . . .

We have no intention of giving anything up. Not land, not power, nothing.
We are proud of what we are, and arrogant – we did not see what was coming. We did not see our downfall.
We are proud of what we have, and so we wept and howled when we gave it up.
We are proud, and we are going to take back what is ours.

Pride brings a man to his knees.

proud? what is there to be proud of in this world? You only end up with what you arrived with, and that’s nothing. What’s the point of it all? Life is terribly unfair. We all spend an inordinate amount of time trying to make ourselves happy, and, ultimately, we fail. Where’s the pride in that? Nowhere, that’s where.
Sinéad
proud of who you are. proud of what you do.

He stood proudly on the shore line. Looking over the seas. On the horizon white sails flared brighter than the sun.
Soon the Armada would be there and he could claim this new land.
Soon the power of his homeland would control this rich new land.
Soon the Pirate Kingdom would take over.
Mike.
I was so proud of the carrot.

Proud people often inspire those around them. I know several proud people, and I know they have inspired me. My father is one of those people. We both have been faced with adversity in our lives, but in spite of everything my father remains a very proud individual. I look up to him for that fact, and tho I don’t wish to be exactly like him, that is a characteristic that I wish to share with him.
OH YEAH!
I was so proud of you when you jumped out of the second floor to the wet grass. Risks are a thing I don’t take, so the stairway was my escape route. The sun wasn’t even up, but we made it out, you and I, and now we must seek refuge

Standing there at their wedding Matt was proud. Proud of his best friends, his brothers.
They made it to this day after everyone said they would fail, that they wouldn’t last. That they didn’t deserve to have this.
As they both said “I do.” both grinning ear to ear he couldn’t have been prouder of them at that moment.
His best friends, his boys, the cutest couple known to man were finally legally married.

Pride is a sin. I can see that now. It was pride that led me to this woefully erroneous conclusion. I was a fool to think that the distance could be overcome. I can only hope that humility will redeem me.

3 months ago, my son was born. After 9 months of long waiting, it finally happened ! Everyone got a card, and candy .. which is a habbit in Belgium. Pictures were taken and champagne à volonté.

i don’t know what it is to be proud. It’s not that I am emo or don’t want to know what proud is, I honestly just don’t feel it, even when I should. Beyond the small proud moments in life, like getting an A on a test, I just don’t feel it. As an overall life feeling, I don’t feel it. I imagine I could become a brain surgeon and not feel it.
