  2. recipes can be difficult to master. Whats so hard about a recipe? All the ingredients are listed you have everything you need all you have to do is follow the rules.i guess you didnt know it was a recipe for disaster when you started this recipe for the” perfect relationship”

  3. Recipes are a great way to delve into uncharted territory when you are cooking. They are a baseline for eventually developing your own dishes. The good thing is, when following a recipe, you are almost certainly guaranteed to come out with something somewhat edible. Also, using recipes will oftentimes introduce you to new ingredients that you previously didn’t even know about. It is a phenomenal way to be social as well.

  4. Cooking is something I’ve never been particularly good at. I just don’t like the constraints of recipes, to many rules… Precise measures and all that. Not to mention my mother was constantly getting on me about the mess I make in the kitchen. There’s something fantastic about eating what you made for yourself though.

  5. It was an old, worn book of recipes which had been passed down for at least three generations. Worn around the edges and filled with scrap pieces of paper. If you looked closely you can see stains for every Christening and Christmas recipe ever tried. If you look closer still, you can see at least three generations of book mites burrowing through the pages. Not really sure if you’d want that on your counter top.

  7. Recipes, these are collections of funny things handed down over generations that give specific instruction on how to prepare certain dishes. Like great-aunt-Mildred’s famous apple pie that snagged her a husband in 1923. Or that infamous banana nut loaf that everyone raves about. In short, memory cards. Not just something from Paula Dean.

  9. Mix, season, read again, worry, taste, stare at the picture, will it really look like that? Daydream. Think of other recipes, other kitchens, my own mother peeling open the frozen cardboard boxes, the 70s versions of mother’s own recipes, later the flour strewn table of my own kitchen, the recipes like a warm soothing music that might make the world taste better.

  10. There are so many of these that I want to try, but I’m really no good in the kitchen. Well, “no good” is a bit of an exaggeration. I can follow a recipe, but I’m not very good with experimentation. That’s what being a real cook is all about, right? Making it your own. I guess I’ll just have to practice and pick up tips and tricks here and there… But I’m okay with being mediocre. Not everyone can be good at everything.

  12. I love recipes. I have about a million stored on my bookmarks page. The funny thing about these, is, I hardly ever get them right. But when I do, it’s success. Recipes are nice because I can alter them and make them my own. I love adding ingredients that make them especially unique. I like following directions.

  13. recipe cards, so many cards — another kind of cupcake, another kind of frosting it’s like it’s snowing different inspirations!

I love it, but sometimes when it’s two in the morning and there’s a kind of silence outside and I can’t quite tell what kind of cupcake to make, ‘m wondering if I should stop — maybe it’s a sign that there’s nothing left for me here, and it’s all over.

    Maybe it is.

Let’s put it all in the oven and hand over the pans.

  14. Delicious looking pictures from the book, with sorry looking messes all over the work top.
A mountain of pots for later, but a delicious treat for now!

  15. Recipes, a family thing, it never happens overnight, but each recipe from a grandma, grandfather, a great grandma or a great grandfather, they get passed down, and they are used over and over again until it has modified enough to actually be a whole different recipe.

  17. Recipes are one of the most important parts of the alchemist’s arsenal. In fact, they are just as important as the ingredients they specify. After all, without recipes, these ingredients are completely useless to the mixer of potions.

  18. Recipes are an incredibly important part of the alchemist’s arsenal. Though sometimes overlooked, in truth they are just as important as the alchemist’s collections of ingredients. Of course, without recipes, these ingredients are of no use to the mixer of potions.
