23 Entries for “resignation”

  1. She felt defeated…destroyed. There was nothing worse he could have said that could have made her feel more resigned. After all those years of her toiling, he took the final decision about their relationship, and for that, she would never forgive him.

  2. I gave a disheartened sigh and sank lower in my office chair. There was nothing much I could do about William; he was young, rich, and his new-fangled ideas were already getting the company hopping. I couldn’t compete with that. Running my hand through my already disheveled hair, I considered retirement.

  3. a staircase
    I even get tired
    of climbing,
    so I sit
    and get tired
    of sitting;

    resignation
    is not giving up
    but giving so much
    that you have nothing
    left to run on.

    take time.
    rejuvenate.

  4. To be quite honest, given the word resignation, I needed to look it up. Google gave me what I already knew, “give up” “resign from job”, etc. Then I found this, “give her the bells and let her fly”

Though it was referring to letting a bird fly with bells on instead of removing them for an easier flight, I couldn’t help but have a theory about this, a relization about life.
Removing the bells before taking off for a designated destination is common sense, make the flight easier, and the better odds that this bird will make it to where it wants to go. However, life isn’t always that easy. Sometimes we are going to have “bells” on us, weighing us down, making the journey a little bit harder then it is for those without “bells”. The question however comes down to you, you didn’t choose the “bells” but its the situation you are dealt with, will you complain and make excuses or give up before reaching your desired place or will you push on through, work that much harder than the others for it. Sometimes being dealt harder cards makes you appreciate it that much more.

Or you can even look at this as why put bells on yourself, don’t add unnecessary things on you that will weigh you down, clear your path, let yourslf have the chance to go after your desired destination.

Given the word resignation doesn’t resignate with me nor should it for anyone. No one should ever give up, quit, walk away, etc.

  7. Never resign to anything. You don’t know anything about anything! We call leaving a job formally as a resignation. It shouldn’t be called as such. It should be called something like freedom.

  8. Leave work, employment. Finally time to retire. Also resign myself to imperfections, sins of past that haunt me – but repentance and forgiveness are possible. A future can be different and starts now. Getting older but not a bad thing.m

  9. With his own resignation, Alexander sighed.
“Alright, Madison. I know I’m a fuck boy. But hear me out: Maria TOTALLY played me. She spoke all sad and was like “dude, you’re so honorable. You gotta give me money and hit this’. Like honestly, J, she had her talons IN.”
“Alex…,” James sighed, “You’re legit SUCH a fuckboy.”

  10. Forty years, he had put into the company, Forty years of hard work. That was until they asked for his resignation. “Give one of the younger employees a chance” They had said, “Train them, as you are the best”, until finally, it was “We just think someone younger would be better for the job. Besides,” They then added, as if it made all of the difference, “It’ll be nice for you to retire and spend more time with your wife.” His wife had passed away three years ago. They had forgotten, and it was because of this that he had avoided retiring for so long.

  18. The complete loss of Hope. When Hope is at an end, this is the feeling. It is the absence of Hope, where Despair is the most desperate of Hopes. Apathy is the absence of Love.

    we don’t know their names,

  23. Harley submitted their letter of resignation shortly after they finished up the last report of the quarter, and after that, it was all packing up and walking out from there. As they sauntered to the elevator – the standard cardboard box tucked under their arm, the black necktie somewhat loosened against the unbuttoned collar of their french cuff shirt – they were greeted by incredulous glances from colleagues who did not ever imagine that the crème de la crème of the office guard would be leaving.
