  1. Taking a long walk on a beach in the dead of night. Feeling the cool water lap against my skin. Looking up to the sky and seeing the moon so large. The first bit of a chocolate bar. When I sleep at night if I’m exhausted.

  2. when i see/hear/think about the word luxurious, i think about a suite in a hotel, a mansion, a nice day at the pool with people waiting on you. I would love to have a luxurious day at the pool. I also think of nice furniture in a fancy house. I would love to live a luxurious life.

    fight the impulse

  12. I don’t like the idea of those Las Vegas Casinos, namely because they perscribe to us an idea of luxury that was handed down from centuries, if not millenia of aristocracy: everything good is gold.
My idea of luxury is hot chocolate, a warm corner, a lamp, hard rain outside and a damn good book about people killing each other for love.

  13. That hotel is nice. Mexico. Lobby. Statue. Gold. Why are their hotels nicer than ours AND cheaper. America is over-rated and over-priced. We just need some luxury that isn’t 10,000 dollars. Welfare!

  15. Everyone tiries to be luxuriois, bags, shoes, everything, without thinking in the true essence of life, in its magic which can indeed be even more luxurious than material stuff.
Open your eyes and discover life, its essence, its meaning and its details. Because we only come here once and we tend to trye everything we can about it.

  17. The carpet was luxurious, obviously imported–if it hadn’t been, she never would have ordered it. However, the upholstery on the couch was dreadful and not at all what she had described; it looked like a prop from a bad remake of Cleopatra. She was going to have to scramble if she wanted the show room ready in time for the open house, especially given she’d just fired Todd. Why were good assistants so hard to find?

  18. Luxurious sounds of flutes and oboes, lettuce and carrot tubes, Lucy, Sky, Diamonds, all there there and here and everywhere for my ears to partake of, to drink up, to allow like molasses to seep and caress the lackluster matter of my needy brain.

    emily
  19. As soon as I stepped through their dilapidated doorway, I was shocked. Shocked to my core. It was the most lavish house I ever did see. And from the outside you could never tell.

    Nancy Mitchell
  20. luxurious. satin blankets and glass chandeliers, lost in cold palace walls as love disappears against the cool surface of chipped marble steps, lush grass tended and tended and tended until it is perfect and until you realize that maybe luxurious isn’t so great after all. i think i’d rather have comfort. old newspapers and seinfeld re runs, warm coffee in cracked mugs and frayed jeans, music that you play over and over and over until you love the words and engrave them into the folds of your brain.

  21. Mink coat of my mom’s is truly luxurious and now with her passing, it is mine.AND when she bought it she really needed it. Germany is bitter cold with deep snow and harsh wind. But here in the pacific northwest, there is resistance to wearing fur- no matter the reason- and i hesitate to wear it, in case someone wanted to “make a statement” and throw paint on it….

  26. Here I sit in a plush leather chair and think how great this is. “I wonder when my coffee will be here.” Then it comes and my day continues, better than I thought it could be, while beyond the plated windows a world rages with violence and hatred, all fighting to be exactly where I am right now.

  27. It is luxurious not to have to work, to spend the day at what you wish, to clean a little, to take care of the pets, to read what and when you want, to have tea on your own time, to be appreciated for doing so little, for raising the kids, who are out of the house in daytime hours now. Luxury.
