The idea is close to my heart. But it also brings sadness. I think of how I’ll never be a part of a true revolution that offers the chance of real change, real dismantling of malignant powers. But the idea, like hope, nests an even higher ideal. That smaller, more personal changes often require rebellion against the “powers that be,” habits and fears and cravings, inside of myself.
The idea is close to my heart. The only real way to change systemic issues… but with current power structures virtually always impossible. It saddens me to think that, blood / sweat / tears or not, I likely will never be a part of that in the way that truly dismantles real power.
History repeats itself. The main reason I didn’t enjoy studying history was because there were too many similar events, happening over and over again; especially the revolutions. Every time someone fixes one thing, a similar problem arises in only a few decades. Revolutions come around just like seasons do. This the “revol” in “revolution.”

It happens like this: one day, everyone just decides they’ve had enough. Enough struggling, enough violence, enough NOTHING and enough EVERYTHING.
One by one, people put down their pens and their guns and their hatred and their vitriol.
One by one, people get better.
It starts with one person, and ends with all people. A revolution to improve all their lives.
