Man went to the moon in 1969. That’s, what, forty years ago? And yet we have made no progress since. Do we not have the drive? Or is it something else? How sad that we need to be goaded by the Soviets into making progress.

Rockets never interested Macy, at least not until she was offered the chance to ride in one. At first the thought of space travel had sounded insane, but as she gave it more thought she decided it may be nice to have a chance to start over new, in a place where no one knew her mistakes. So she swallowed what was left of her pride and signed herself up for the Intergalactic Space Organaization, more commonly known as the ISO.

“I think there’s something wrong with the rockets,” he shouted, clanging up the spiraling stairs. “I’m going to take a look!”
“Get back down here, James,” she yelled back, frantically pressing buttons. “If something pops you’ll be cooked like a lobster!”

I once wanted to build a rocket and fly away. then I realized there are much better things to do if I just stayed. Here I have love, life, and predictability. those are things not found in a rocket..

Rocket blasts off! Did anyone read Ray Bradbury’s the Marian Chronicles? Lots of 50s rockets and great stories. Speaking of, since I’m enlisting, maybe I should be an Army aviator…I could be the first guy from Norristown to be blasted into outer space!

4th of July rockets are beautiful — they are red, blue, green, yellow and in the sky. 4th of July a wonderful time of the year to watch rockets. Everyone should like to see them in the sky.
JoAnn
I´m a rocket! a powerful one. You can´t reach me, because you are too slow, that´s right my love. Don’t cry anymore, the sun will show you more.

a ship to the moon? or just a vehicle destined to disappoint us when we realize we’re not alone. then maybe we won’t be the big dogs on campus anymore. heaven forbid…

Flight pure, and beautiful, serene beyond all thing in a voiceless space where anything is possible. It is here that I can escape to create and building something never thought of before it is here I can find a world of my own.

I jumped on the rocket ship just before blast of and it shot itself into the atmosphere, leaving clouds of dust in its wake. It was amazing feeling, gravity being taken from you, pulled from your fingertips. I’d never been in a rocket ship before, but it felt just like an airplane. A fluttering feeling in my stomach presented itself and I felt my hand raise to my heart, to feel the pounding in my chest. It was exciting, watching the world I was once a part of move so far away, it felt like I was losing something, but It was still with me.
Emily Krol
When I think of rockets, I think about how cool it is that they give us the ability to leave the world as we know it and enter the Cosmos. The ability to discover a new world. Awesome.

A man looked upwards at the giant shuttle, wondering whether or not he had left on his stove before entering it.
The resulting explosion upon the shuttle mirrored that of his own home, as both went up in a fiery blaze.
Jack Spade
The rocket in the sky represented the shooting stars she had always wished upon as a child; the stars that would always be gone before the last words could fall from her lips, before the sky could be fully illuminated with their light.

It flew off, jetting, into the sky with a flare below that blinded the audience. They all stared in amazement until they realized, finally, that the small figure attached to its side was writhing in panic. “Michelle!!!” A man watching screamed, and the shriek echoed from the sky. They all began to panic in a swarming mass of chaos as the controllers scrambled, searching for some sort of button or switch to stop the rocket. Nothing was working. Finally, they discovered a control panel and cut off all services for the rocket. It plummeted back to earth after hours and hours, and they all crowded around it. Machinery was used to turn it over, revealing the rope which had tied the small girl to it. The rope traced to empty air; Michelle had disappeared.

I like rockets. Like the rocket slide at the park. It leaves you wishing you could sail to the moon. I sometimes wonder if I’ll ever travel that far in my lifetime. I don’t want to be stuck where I am now. It makes me unhappy to think of a life without adventure and new things.
Jenna
I just had this one! Humhumhum. I’m just saying things that come into the top of my head. Oo, look! Rocket! It says Rocket! Rocketyrocketyrockety… Flight of the Conchords, dammit!
Kups
Rockets are cool. They fly really, really fast. And, like, into space. Wich is awesome. And infinite. They can be made to look like penises. Njehehehehe, penises….

When I was little, I wasn’t that different than anyone else. I wanted to be an astronaught. To this day, I feel like some of that desire has not left me. I tripped acid on the day before leaving the last day of my freshman year of college, and I could not help but rekindle my facination with the stars and beyond. What would it be like to be next to a star?
Julian
