  8. There are many routes one can take in life, and yet, I fell all the routes I’ve taken have led me to you. It is because of the decisions I’ve made, the paths I have chosen, that I have found you. Had I not met L, had I not lost her – had I not become the woman I am today, I know I would not be the woman you need in your life, ready and able, willing to love you.

  9. There was a pause in the conversation. The table sitting next to us did their best to fill the gap as a loud American voice shouted “Route 66”.

  10. To many, life is a journey comprising of multitudes of routes and possibilities. But all that is needed for an individual is… a choice. A choice is all that is needed to change the world. The consequences of ones’ choice will affect another in a never-ending domino effect. Interconnected through courses of actions and effects, the world is in the hands of it’s people. You may ask, “…But Light, how then does the notion of destiny and fate still exist”? And to that, my reply is please stop talking to your computer monitor; I cannot see or hear you.

  12. this is a big place. lots of things to think about. who you are, and who you’d like to be. This is strange… the longest route is from the heart to the mind. lots of things get lost in translation. Things we need to embrace, and let go.

  13. The safe route takes many many forms. There’s no map key specifying exactly which thin line is the safe route, so many are likely to stray, and only a few of those are able to handle their own error in judgment.

    Lauren Scharf
  14. I had a paper route when I was a kid. When I first got the job it was an afternoon thing. No one else seems to remember this, but my local newspaper used to be delivered in the afternoons (or at least it wasn’t required to deliver it pre-asscrack of dawn). Then once I was a few months in they sprung this 7am deadline on me. Plus I wrecked my bike once doing it and had to walk home with a bent up front wheel and a road rashed side. Oh, and I met the guy from the paper who I had the turn my subscription payments to in a McDonalds parking lot to do the exchange, which always felt shady. Weird memories.

  16. Root. Raut. Route 66, HUGE Sonic drink. Long way home. Scenic.

  17. Why do you think that we take certain paths in our lives? The route to success or failure is always different, and there is always a choice involved. We all choose differently, and there are always different paths to choose. How exactly did we all end up here, in one place?

    Jaclyn
  18. Life’s route is often looping, long and complex – but ever so often, you begin to see that it brings you back to the place you started from. Is all of the map just a set of circular routes? Why do we go so far to enjoy coming back?

  24. Route is all about taking a sign and figuring out where you want to go in life. You can either look at the sign and think twice, or you can go with your first instinct and follow where the road may lead. They say you should always take the road less traveled and hey, you never know til you try.

  27. It is my belief that our lives are lived on the routes. Everyone thinks that it is our destinations that define us, but it is the routes that we choose that make us who we are. Life shouldn’t be lived just to get to the end of the route, but in the adventures we have getting there.

  28. some days i’m so eager to leave, i look up directions to places far far away. i don’t know if i’ll be leaving alone, or if I want you to come with me. but some day soon i’m leaving. i’m gone.

    dangerous

    i won’t fall
    to those nasty lies

  30. It was now that I have realized that life is lived in the route. It’s not the destination that, but the routes that we choose to get there that makes us who we are.

  31. We couldn’t find our way. No one could. The route had been designed for specific people with a specific purpose, even if both the people and purpose were general. They had not been designed for us. And we did not know how to get to that destination. It took us all the time of the journey — the thinking we were wrong — to realize that we had an entirely different destination than the route posited. And that we would get there even if we did not want to get there.

  32. The route Derek took was a familiar one. He walked down his driveway, towards the grocery store, and past the street sign. He went into the woods and over the rock in the the middle of the creek. He went to a place that was his own. A place he knew he was safe from the teasing and mockery of the rest of his life. Derek’s route took him home.

  36. The route to happiness is long and winding. But I’m on my way. I can’t wait to get there, but I know that when I do…I’ll just look for the next route to take me higher. Love that, don’t you? I do.

  38. A lot of roads have closed for me lately. On coming home from Tennessee, a rock slide closed the mountain road that was most direct. For that, my girlfriend and I sat in traffic for the next few hours. At home, more were closing for my parents – future divorcees, as they seem to be. A lot of roads are closing, but they treat me more like an adult everyday that they sink into acting more like children.

  40. route. what route do i take? it may seem tacky but I’ve never seen any clear route for my life. I may be on the younger side, but I’m running out of time, and my life is going nowhere. I am stuck in the moment. Maybe that’s how my whole life will go. But then again, I don’t have such a problem with that…hm.
