  1. When money is king where do you find sanctity? What is holy when everything is for sale? I find it in quiet reflection. Thinking your own thoughts is the only act that’s still sacred, post-God, post-morality.

    dan
  2. Peace. Respect. Reverence. We as a generation must preserve the sanctity of our world because, when it’s gone, all is lost.

    E G
  3. The sanctity of marriage is sacred but people don’t seem to understand that concept these days. Everyone runs around doing what they want not thinking of the consequences of their actions. THey hurt whomever they want and don’t give it a second thought.

    Amanda Dooley

  5. an excess of flowers, a succulent
    cake, twin rings, impatient bells.
a long train, an excited sunset,
    expensive photographer, two
    brides, one dress, no groom.

    what a beautiful wedding!

    (poor mommy and daddy,
    poor upstairs neighbor).

  6. The sanctity of marriage is a bit of a crock. I was brought up Catholic, and marriage is one of the major sacraments—akin to communion and baptism. But few people treat it as such. And really, should they? It’s just a contract between two people who are often too young (well before their frontal lobe is fully formed) to truly know what they are doing.

  7. I can’t even find sanctity in my room anymore because memories permeate everything and I need a chance to get out and escape and discover new places that I will feel safe and whole and not alone.

  8. The window, through a slight waver of glass, framed an oriole quiet on its back, all sunlight on that February morning focused into one lemon yellow drop.

  9. The church is a very sanctifying place. It has a peaceful calmness about it. The moment you walk in the doors you can feel the holiness within the church.

    Lauren Moeding
  10. Sanctity is not a place of being holy, but what you imagine of being holy. It is a place a peace and wonder. A place where you can ponder all issues of the world. Sanctity is holy

    Mary Claire Li
  11. There was a certain sanctity to the way in which she carried herself. She walked with eloquence and flipped her hair with grace. She smiled easily and aimed to make others smile as well. But beneath this facade was a hurting heart, a wounded soul. Beneath lay a monster, angry and scratching to get out. But appearance was all that mattered. Watch me, be me, want me, she echoed into the night. Fake it til you make it. Bury the monster. Remain in control.

  12. is it about a place you go for sanctuary? Oh no, its an office isn’t it? Ha, reminds me of of federal triangle here. What am i going to do about my site?! god, i just want to figure this project out. Is that helvetica? I hate it. ha, passion pit. No, its not helvetica

    Yousef Bushehri
  13. Oh god not this again, Jerome thought, not another sanctity of marriage argument. Didn’t we get enough of these in class? didn’t these people watch the West Wing?

Whoever the President on that show is basically destroys the whole Bible argument. Didn’t they understand the separation of church and state?

  14. Welp, don’t really know what this word means. Perhaps because I don’t have it in my life. Sanctity…is it like a place for your sanity? Because I’m not so sure I have one of those. Or is it more religious? Because I am definitely not very religious. This could start a crisis in my life…

    Taylor
  15. They told me you were important. A God. Holy. Mighty.

When one repeats this over and over into your six year old brain, you’d take it to be truth.

Now I don’t know if the historians were blinded. I thought you righteous, I thought you perfect.

    You weren’t.

You were a king, oh right.
And you sat on a throne of lies.

    Ollie
  16. a staty where oone can find relief or peacefulness.

  17. Sanctity is the space in which I pray. Sanctity is the room in my heart where you live. Sanctity is the peacefulness that descends upon my soul when I shut my eyes and listen. Listen. Sanctity is something that cannot be touched. Sanctity transcends earthly limits.

    Sydney
  18. I am so foreign to the idea of sanctity that it took me a while to read it. I read two parts, san ctity, a place like vegas a little short of sin and with a mispelled city to match it. I’m not sure why it’s like this but I don’t mind because it reminds me of all the religions that have ever been sold to me by well meaing college boys in ripped sweatshirts and corduroys.

  19. A word misused repeatedly. Sanctity of marriage, sanctity of religion, sanctity of whatever people want to defend without having a real defense. If one claims something is sanctimonious, they all of the sudden do not require further

    Alyssa
  20. The place held a sense of sanctity to her. It had protected her from the bad and the unknown. As the walls fell apart, the sanctity had to be found from within.

  21. With an indignant growl, the man began to wonder what creature had dared to ruin the sanctity of his halls. Small footsteps echoed, reaching his ears even in the far south wing. But that was only part of the problem. Who would face his wrath? His growl echoed through the hallways, a threatening rumble, a warning. It ran through all of the halls.

  22. Something good, something better, something that keeps you on the ground, something that makes you fly! Don’t lose it ever, it is your treasure, for when darkness is around you, you will find- your sanctity.

    Soumya Mukherjee (@i1_2ramble)
  23. Sanctity is everything around us, in fact, it at least should be. Each person should have their holiness. In their hearts. As one was born with it, one should die. Too much horror in this world.

    Klara
  24. He was a place to hide. I’d bury my face into his chest, and pretend his chest hair was a pillow. I’d close my eyes, and for a little while, everything would be fine. His arms around me kept me safe, and his kisses washed all of the dirt I brought with me away.

  25. As she walked through the heavily veined jungle, she parted the branches, and walked through to see a meadow that looked holy. She not dare step further, for she did not want to break the sanctity of the place.

  26. Sanctity—lost.
No longer a part of the world.
    We are moving about—
doing whatever the hell we want.
    Not caring.
    Destroying.
    Living for the wrong reasons.
    Return to that positive place.

  27. Honestly, the girl was confused and had no clue where she was going. She was cold, dirty, alone, and she was down to her last cigarette. She flicked her greasy, dirty blonde hair over her shoulder and covered her shoulders even more with her raincoat. She was far from Sanctity.

  28. You hear about sanctity of marriage which implies
that two people sit in a house and stare at each other,
become all-consumed with the other. But in truth,
we go out in the world, meet more folks, have feelings so
the sanctity is an aspiration we must hold in our hearts.

    Robin
  29. The sanctity of the blood of Christ. To be sanctified by His blood, to live out a life that is set apart from this world, just for Him. Let me not live a life in flesh, but let me abide my God’s grace and love as one who yearns after His heart.

  30. Angelic as the angels scream as every human learns to pray inside their dreams. Everyone has sin inside of them, like a sadistic trait. Satan knows. He lives off our torment, lives off our smirks when we kill someone. While God boils at his throne like a cauldron over flowing. We’re not sanctity, we portray our sins. We defile our sacredness and set alight holiness.

God knows. We’re devil-like to the bone.

  31. I am peace
    peace is leaves
    falling down from the trees

    I am home
    home is shields
    not cages;
    safe are my boundaries.

    I am holy
    holy is grace
    the redemption in my heart
when I finally get to see Your face.

  33. you may not doubt the word. you may not disobey the word. you may not turn your back to the word. you may not think apart the word. you must give up your mind and follow. such is redemption from your own intellect, dignity and freedom or anything else that may distinguish you from the arthropod. you must leave these in front of my sanctity, as you may not doubt the word.
