She had to deal with the dads who used too much lighter fluid and the kids who hit their heads in the pools or got hit with skim boards at the beach. Sometimes, rescue was the worst job.

  10. She was a saturday person. He was a thursday. She liked having the whole day to herself and the whole night to explore the world. SUnday to think it all through again. He liked the build up, the anticipation. Wednesday hurt in his side and as thursday came along the pain eased but the nervous ache of friday hadn’t yet hit him like a steamtrain. It was the perfect limbo where a good time could be had, but he didn’t have to have it just then.

  14. Oh Saturday, dreadful, dreadful Saturday. You bring me pain. No pleasure can come out of you. Even if a lot of human beings enjoy you, I honestly don’t. You are a constant reminded of my sadness. A pain that will forever live in me. But I’ll try. I’ll try to get through you. You’re still a day. Even if you’re not Monday. Which is MY day. In French.

  15. The powder-blue sky promised a very cheerful day. The birds were singing along to the rhythm of the wind and the animal of the forest swelled with activity. The mysterious night had passed, and it was once again time to swipe away the cobwebs of sleep. The leaves rustled as they tried to reach out to the beautiful maiden who skipped through the bushes, her dainty figure matching the wonderful view.
Her laughter filled the air, her voice like a violin’s song.
