red, purple, green. cold fall days… crisp winter walks downtown. Beautiful old grandma’s and handsome young indie kids! my brother trying to be gentlemanly! my mother. she loves her scarfs. a general feeling of missing my old scarfs. sport coats and pipes. the smell of tobacco!

it could be red and a multitude of colors. It was something I wore a lot when young and Catholic to church.. Now we see many women wearing them and know that it is their religion. I now have a box of them and rarely put them on.
Oh how much fun can be had when one is wrapped up in all of them.

to eat fast, it’s not a word it’s just an experience, tacos are the best to scarf. I think it’s from people who smoke to much mj

Well this is boring. I read in someone else’s lj that they got the word Scarf as well, so I feel incredibly deprived of originality as far as that’s concerned. Plus, I reckon I’ve already used up most of my time making sure I was in the right bloody place; stupid screen readers. Anyway, scarf. Now what can I say about that? Oh, in New Zealand, the students down in Dunedin (in the South Island) are locally known as Scarfies, because it’s freezing cold down there and that’s all they wear…

A fabric of ruffles, a fabric of frills lingers in the wind whistles around my neck.
As the breeze goes it tickles my face.
It scratches at my ears and crawls in front of my eyes.
The autumn is here,
the winter is near.
Only a brisk chill now but soon to be freeze allowed.

beautiful parisian boys wearing scarves and carrying sketchbooks, all of them look like they’d just like to make you coffee and write you a poem. what is it about gray skies that makes every boy swearing a scarf instantly more attractive and adorable? perhaps the most essential accessory of the past few years, bitchez.

a red scarf. The relic that she holds around her neck. Something to keep you warm. A tool of death. Can save a life. No one uses them anymore, except for those british bastards. I’ve never met someone that wears em. Kinda strange. Makes one guess where and when did the scarf fashion die.

I remember being totally cocooned by scarves knitted by my great grandmother as a child to keep out the cold of upstate NY winters. The wool scratched my face but I loved the smell and warmth of it.

He took the blue scarf from the park bench where she had left it. Pressing it to his cheek, the scent of lilacs came to him, and he recalled the soft summer nights he knew they would never share again.

She wore a scarf the other day…
I wonder if there could be something there…
Is there?
She’s not like anyone else I’ve ever been with…
Maybe she’s what I’ve needed all along and couldn’t find in anyone else…

She wrapped the scarf tightly around her neck, insuring that no cold could get through. She was annoyed, but she understood that she was the only one who could go, the old man had nobody else to turn to. So, she just sighed and stepped out into the blustering snow, making sure the door locked behind her.

I knit scarves. Long scarves. Short scarves. Scarves with patterns and stitches and scarves without patterns. It’s fun. They’re fashionable. They keep me warm in the fall and winter. Accessories are good. A scar and a pair of gloves and you are set for most any kind of foul weather.

i wore a scarf today, not because it was cold or I wanted to, but because my mom told me to wear one. I don’t think she wanted me to cut it out of her fur coat.
Matthew Morea
I never wear a scarf, however as I have gotten older the cold is no longer tolerable and I have begun wearing them

i remember when women wore scarfs when they went to church. Not seen today in the US may still be done overseas.

Scarlet scarf around her white neck. Like blood trickling on the white snow. From a distance it seems a motionless tragedy, desperately seeking to come to an end.

a scarf is so french. i knit so many but i never like them so i rip them out and start all over. i have dozens of skeins of yarn just to knit scarves with. i want to give them to friends, but i’m never finished with them because they never look like i think they should.
they look great on other people but i look like a kitten with a bow around it’s neck. i have good intentions of giving them to every man and woman i know, but they just fill up my knitting bag.

Scarf floating in the wind. Up, down, falls to the ground. Old woman picks up scarf, wraps it around her neck, feels warm. A smile comes to her withered, old face – a face that doesn’t see many smiles.
Lawn Gnome
The word scarf makes me think of something to help keep the head or neck warm. Or, as a verb, it’s to eat something quickly . . . to really scarf up on it.
Noun scarves can come in a variety of colors and shapres. Some are used as religious head coverings, such as those used by Muslim women.
i wore a scarf in late november that was white but had red splatters on it. Stylish and all the rage but what the people didn’t know is that it was truly a white scarf. The red was blood.
jonny irish
I wore one last winter when it was cold outside. It was made of wool. It was blue and about 5 feet long, and was very warm. What else can I tell you about it.

Like that episode of Monk where the lady’s ridiculously long scarf “accidentally” gets caught in the elevator.
Striped, fuzzy, knit, made by my aunt. Extravagant.
Wish it wasn’t so hot in New Mexico so I could have an opportunity to wear my nice scarves.

A scarf is something that keeps your neck warm in the winter. They come in all colors. They are made of various materials. Almost everybody owns one, or more. I love to wear a scarf.

My initial reaction is the piece of clothing, then I realize how full I am, and that I’m from a…”robust,” shall we say? family, and that in America today, we just tend to over-eat.
Suddenly, I forget about fashion and think about one of my favorite past-times – borne out of necessity: Scarfing.
I usually don’t have time to eat, and certainly don’t eat much that warrants enjoying. Eating, for the most part, becomes just my need for sustenance – and quickly since I probably have somewhere to be.
Truth is, I’m so good at scarfing now that even if I find something amazing to eat, I’ll just revert to scarfing the damn thing.
I should probably wear the noun of this word more often, wrapped around my neck. And pulled tightly.
A scarf to stop the scarfing.
At least it didn’t say “snarf.” That word alone almost ruined “Thundercats.”
OK…now I’m just vamping…

The bright red scarf was tight around his neck. Tears fell from his eyes as he remembered, at the last minute, that the ligature had been a gift from his now gone grandmother. Others would surely have found a better use for the elegant silk gift, but he–always instead of the group–used it for this purpose. With a slight intake of breath, he pushed off the stool which had been holding him up…

This could be something you put around your neck to keep warm. It is also slang for eat.

It was cold. He had nothing much to do except wrap a scarf around his neck and take a brisk stroll. The texture of the wool was cheap and thick and he couldn’t help but scratch gruffly at his neck for the entire walk. He remembered the day he purchased it as he adjusted it for the second time, crossing the street at a hasty pace. It was at a world trade market and he managed to buy it for less than the asking price from a dark-eyed tradesmen who claimed an old woman by way of Poland knit them.
