I used to wear scarves nearly every day and had a veritable menu of ways to tie them. Luckily I was a girl scout and good with knots.

  22. Something you can wear if you are cold or just want to look fashionable. It can be worn on the outside with a coat or on the inside with a dress or sweater to add some piazz. Scarfs are also good for head coverings whether needed for medical reasons or just to look fashionable on a bad hair day. Scarfs come in all colors and prints and some are even works of art. Hermes’ scarfs are probably the one fashion statement a person on a limited budget can make to fit in with society or the wealthy. Scarfs can also be knit by your grandmother and maybe you knitted one for that special boyfriend in high school.

  27. She wrenched the scarf from around her neck. It was the same scotch plaid scarf her mother left with her 23 years ago. From her perch on the wall surrounding the well she could see the water far below. A level of water that grew lower every day. Slowly, every so slowly she let the cursed scarf slip threw her fingers until if fluttered in the breeze and appeared to float for a long moment before finally yielding to gravity and tumbling down to the surface of the putrid water. Maybe, she thought, just maybe getting rid of that scarf that had strangled someone would solve all her problems. She turned to face her father standing behind her. His face was a blank. There was no clue as to how he felt but then there never had been had there? Everything, everything she’d done to get his approval led up to this and now she realized there was nothing more to do.
