  1. the scarf hung off of him the way that your belt does when you don’t want your pants on anymore. it was so black you could tell that the turtleneck underneath was not black but very dark blue. He somehow always spat when he said “f”s.

  3. Don’t ask me to remove my scarf…to disrobe in front of you and leave myself naked and vulnerable. I want to hide in the silk, covered and safe, like an ostrich in the sand. Don’t ask me to remove my scarf.

  4. I like Rent. I’m interested in Anthony Rapp’s character, Mark, who’s said to be originated by Anthony, incidentally…whatever the hell that means. Anyhow, Mark wears this scarf, apparently white and navy in the stage version of Rent; in the movie version, however, they had to make it navy and gray because the white was too white for the camera. Maybe they shouldn’t have bleached it. And Anthony says that scarf is sitting in his closet. And besides, it’s very Hogwarts-rific. Larsen was around first, but I think Rowling has a bigger audience; she can make claim on the scarf.

  8. I used to make scarves by hand when I was on my first years of University. It was good money while they were trendy and I started to get known for making them. But it would take around three days for me to finish one. I am not sure if I remember how to make a scarf anymore… and I don’t wear them now because they make me look too hip

  9. This is a scarf, he said. Smiling he tightened his grip. This is a scarf. He smiled larger. The other children stepped back, glancing with a lack apprehension. What was he talking about? Who was he? No one knew for sure, but he definately didn’t belong, and what of this scarf? I could see no scarf. Neither could anyone else.

This is a scarf he said, as he gripped his hands. Pulling himself closer.

  12. It was a ver pretty scarf, but I couldn’t afford it. It was blue and green and not really as sparkly as I would have liked it to be, but that was ok. I couldn’t afford it anyway. But it would have gone perfectly with the dress I bought yesterday and I would love to see it on me at the ball. I couldn’t afford it anyway.

  14. I was wearing a scarf the other day.
it was blue with pink polka dots. and it was fuzzy. the best kind. not itchy, not too thick, not too thin. Just right. it kept away the cold. I wrapped it around my neck and over my mouth and nose. every time I breathed in and out, it was real warm. The wind made my eyes water, and it would soak into the scarf.

  15. The scarf was blowing gently in the wind… almost like a mother rocking her baby to sleep. There was a peaceful quality about it. Nothing showed what would come next. The senseless violence in an unforgiving world.

The scarf was beautiful. Light blue with red stars on it. Meant to keep one warm, while drawing attention to the beauty that was wearing it.

  20. It keeps you warm. It’s on your neck. Warm and nice in the coldness of winter. But it can hang you. Dreadful premonition, the warmth of your neck. Perhaps the same warmth you will feel on the gallows.

Her scarf is yellow, red, and blue. It hangs loosely around her neck. The warmth she feels, will you feel it again some day?

  24. it was a week after that DAY, and you stole my scarf. frustrated as you pranced around with it tied securely around your neck.
unaffected after you tossed me aside, you did not seem to mind having some lingering attachment to me.
The day when you eventually gave it back, it smelled of you. It was dizzying. i wanted to rid it every trace of you…and i…
I wanted to wrap up in it and disappear, just so i wouldn’t forget. maybe you wouldn’t forget either.
fastforward. I found that old scarf again, buried deep in an old box. it no longer smells of you.
i might have felt something, but it’s alright, because you don’t even exist to me, although…
i never did get around to washing it, five years later.

  30. I wore the scarf around my neck. It was beautiful: red and flowing, silk, a gift from my ex husband. As I stood on the street of Berlin, I turned in a circle, took a deep breath, and threw it in the garbage.

  31. The red scarf slowly fell of her nude body to reveal the scars made by her former lover. It sickened me to the extend that I forgot what the rest of her perfection, and pretended to to feel oblivious. As it slowly it slid down , the red silk fluttered, much like a damaged butterfly. This , in contrast to the previous, reminded me why I loved her in this damaged state; that, even thought her body was broken, her soul and mind was stronger than any I have ever encountered. To think, my love realisation, triggered by the same red scarf once used to bound her.

  32. the scarf is a wonderfully smooth and comforting garmet in the cold, cold days of winter. It is as smooth and nice as a big hug from a lover, and as comforting as chicken soup.

  37. was flowing in the January wind as she walked across the frosty field into the white sun of mid morning . Crisp straw-filled crunch under foot. Black crow , alone, watching for bits of brunch. Pecks at empty stones, searching, trying each one in turn, unsuccessful in endeavor. Bird breathing atop the white powder crystals shining as glass shards broken on the floor. Working, hopeful turning more stones, finding dry box of black beetle, tip, snap, satisfied, fly away.

  39. The scarf started to tear under the weight that it was never designed to hold. Two full size adults clung to it’s warm pink fabric holding on for dear life. The drop below them was a long one and there was no way out of this.
