I have a long scarf that is a Godsend in the winter when the snow is blowing. I bought it in Mexico and it is so warm and conmfortable! It’s a basic black one and goes with everything.

Scarfs are great but there is a much bigger problem in America, scarfing. The other there was a news story about the competitive eating competitions. There was a tie. First of all why do we need such competition. Do we really need a large part of the world, let alone the US, ‘training’ for such a competition. Really? Would not that energy be better spent elsewhere?

i think of the dancer who died in a car accident type thing when her scarf was flying out behind her while she drove in a convertible sports car in Europe. the scarf wrapped around the wheels of the car and was strangled to deat. Her name was Isadora Duncan, and she was quite famous at the time.

Mom’s polyester one blowing out the window on the Interstate in Florida. Muslim women. One of those articles of clothing I never quite figured out. Great for winter, but otherwise annoying. The huge one Marlene found in a Savannah junk store.

I have several of these. They look OK as a ‘fashion accessory.’ And they also work great to stuff under my motorcycle helmet to keep the wind/cold out.
Most recently I picked up a “Destmal,” a kind of scarf thing. It’s worn by guys here in Central Asia.
AjR
she wore the scarf in the blustery wind. As she walked briscly down the snow covered street the snow swirled about her ankles in a teasing yet loving way.

So there he stumbled, half giddy happy, half dignified. Wearing that stupid tweed jacket, those hipster pants and that stupid scarf. A scarf? He cared about himself so much.

Your red scarf matches your eyes. You close your cover before striking. I love scarves. They are good for shade, sun protection, wiping sweat and dust off my face, making a pillow, carrying a baby, and add a touch of beauty to whatever you wear. I especially like pashmina shawls.

DON
The tight knit scarf around her neck itched a lot. It was hot and sweaty on the bus, and she didn’t think she needed it. But, her mother did. It was to cover up the huge hole in her neck that she had to speak out of. She rarely spoke, if at all, and when she did, it was only when she had to. She hated that scarf. It was only autumn, but it still felt like summer. Scarves were not meant for summer weather.
Emily

Baljit
pretty silkiey makes me dressed up but is hot in the summer and I only wear them in the winter but wish that I had time to try to tie them better and be more decorative. I also like to pin wthem or wear scarf holders with them. I will always love scarves no matter how much they might get out of fashion. One fashipo that I really would like to see come back is the head band scarf,. I really lvo9ed wearing them in the 60s and wish they would reappear. Bandannas are nice also and I would wear one more often If I could mremember to. I have wquite a colleciton of scarves right now and I usually think of pulling it out when I am getting ready for church. I tend to wear more scarves in the fall than at any other time of year. I like scareveds and pappreciate them on other people as well. I once saw a demo on tying scarves but too much of it did not stick with me. I would have to attend a sscarf workshop in order to really get the techniques down for each different way of tying and wearing scarfs. I just saw a beautiful way to wear a beach cover large scarf by tying the two corners up at the top of your shoulders to look like a sun dress. Now it makes me want to find a big square of silky fabric to try this with.
