  3. I remember the scarf on her head, she seemed to enjoy wearing it whenever we went out. I remembered the cool spring mornings when we would take a walk down to the Swiss store at the end of the block. She didn’t need a fancy hairdo to look beautiful, the scarf was her crown.

  4. Today my scarf blew away… In a manner of speaking. She was sitting there, her back propped against the pay toilet, so young, shivering as the working folk of the financial district walked by her. I figured my scarf could use a new adventure.

  6. a flag in the wind, waving at all the guys passing by. What a subtle signal, saying “I’m here, I’m here, come and get me.” Of course, some scarves say don’t look, I’m an old lady. I’ve got my hair covered, so leave me alone. I just want to be warm.

  8. I’ve made a scarf before. It seems pretty girly i know but I was bored and didn’t have anything else to do. I felt like I had really accomplished something. I didn’t keep any of the scarves I made for myself, I gave them all away. It’s sad though when I actually when looking for different times of yarn and was disseminated they didn’t have a particular color.

  9. I make these. Crocheting. Is that just lame? It makes me feel old to crochet, but I don’t think I’m old.
Now I am just rambling. What else does a scarf make me think of? Wrapping around the neck. Covering a hickey? That makes me have high school memories.

  10. All swallowed in their coats — with those red scarves tied round their throats. They meant to keep their little heads from falling in the snow, but I turned round and there you go. Michael, you were falling in the snow — you turned the white snow red as strawberries in the summertime.

  17. Scarf…it reminds me of my babcia. She loves to wear them. She has about 50 different kinds. All different patterns and colors. When I was younger, I used to borrow them and wear them in my hair. I also think of cold weather, the snow and how they keep me warm. My friend Kara sent me a scarf as a gift when she moved away down south. I still have it and wear it often. I miss her.

  19. The scarf was the color of autumn, meant to keep people warm. It reminded him of fall, the day he met her. He missed fall, now that the spring had come. She had left, like the passing of gold leaves, and he was left with silly fluorescent flowers and bees. Bees sting. He missed his scarf, the one which was autumn colored, like her hair.
