  8. This thing is a strange item of apparel, if not worn for more than strict function. Why do they usually refer to a “silk” scarf? These days they seem dowdy, unstylish. My boss, an older Boomer, wears one when it’s cold or windy. My mom wore one. They can be worn as one of those puffy fashion accessories around the neck. Tricky spelling on the plural: scarves. Snoopy wears one when flying. Scarves are a part of some uncommon military uniforms. For that matter, the US Army refers to shirts as “blouses”. But I digress. What about the idiomatic expression, to “scarf it up”? It means to yield a hidden item or something similar, but what does that have to do with a scarf?

  10. I have a beautiful orange and white scarf that my friend in the northeastern US knitted for me. It doesn’t keep me very warm, but it is very pretty and makes me feel so stylish when wearing it. If I had a pair of Marc Jacobs boots to pair it with, well, that’s the only thing that would make my orange scarf even better I think. That and if my 12 year old daughter would keep her paws off it.

  21. Warm soft wooly scarves for winter. Plaid when I was younger, exotic colors now. Beautiful silk scarves for accessories. Square, oblong, large, small. Scarf pins to wear with some of them. Had a red and black one that I wore with a red jacket. Always wondered what happened to it. Good memories wearing that outfit. Have a wonderful scarf a friend brought me from China. It’s creamy ivory and very large. I wore it as a stole with a “little black dress” — made quite an impact. Bought different colored scarves for everyone a few Christmases ago. That was fun watching everyone open them. Glad to see they all enjoyed their gift. Scarf. A good word with good memories.

  22. A scarf can be used in so many ways. Around your head, around your neck, around your waist. It can be very beautifully draped or tied with various knots. The colors can be very beautiful and can accessorize your clothing in many ways. The designs are of many variations as well. I have a neat collection of scarves and wear one every so often. I love to see scarves and the many different ways they can be worn. It is fun to see how creative you can be in how you wear a scarf. You can leave it in a triangle shape or roll it up in a long roll. You can tie many small knots in it or leave it with no knots, but with the ends tucked through a ring.
