  2. I think about Isadora Duncan; when I was a little girl I would play with scarves and my aunt would say “it’s the great Isadora Duncan.” Then I would wrap the black one around my tiny torso and pretend to be Gypsy Rose Lee. The I would be Vanna White.

My grandma has a purple one that she gave to me

  4. scarves are really warm and really useful during the winter time, they keep my neck really cozy, while also still looking stylish as hell. my scarf is black, grey and white. i bought it at the gap a couple years ago, and it stil never seems to go out of style. i dont understand this game, i really wanted there to be a fun point to this. like they knew what type of words i was going use and stuff because our brains are so washed with media and blah blah blah. you know the drill. no big deal. i was just dispointed.

  5. Scarves. What comes to mind – warmth….protection from a frigid day, wind whipping hair around my face. The girl tucking her arms around her body, and burying her face in the deep green scarf. It was a shamrock green, woolen but soft and

  8. Wrapping, whipping, fluttering in a harsh breeze, it cradled her head from the ice and chill, stroked her neck as night fell over the street lights, and strangled her as his hand pulled the fabric taut until she submitted to the dark.

  9. I remember my grandmother used to have this one scarf I really adored. It was purple–Well, lavender really. She was so beautiful in it. Her hair didn’t all gray at once. The back of her head was brown, but it looked like she had highlights in the front. It was that scarf that really made her hair stand out.

  10. I’m trying to learn how to knit scarves, it’s a lot easier than I thought it would be. I want to knit one of those big huge circle scarves, those ones that cost way too much at stores.

  11. I once read an article about French women and their scarves. They have so many different ways to wear them, and every way is so cool. French women are so cool.

  12. Scarves are what keep your neck warm when the air is chilly.
They make sure you dont freeze when the water does.
Itchy, soft, fluffy and stretchy. Scarves are amazing.
    SCARVES FOR EVERYONE!!!!!!

  13. Scarves are soft, and warm.
Scarves are what keep you warm in winter and adorn your coat with flair.
The scarf is a spectacle for all eyes to see, let it be heard far and wide!
    Scarf, scarves.

    Sabrina
  14. She carefully draped the material around her neck. The heavy fabric soaks up the warmth of her skin and magnifies it, reflects it. Looking in the mirror, she gives the end a final tug before opening the door. Some days she thinks the scarf has the power to keep her head on straight.

And God knows she needs all the help she can get today.

  15. I hate scarves. I don’t understand how to wear them, I feel like they make me look silly and they get in the way all tangeld. I……. don’t like scarves. I don’t like fr4ee word assoctiation. this is hard iuneed more practie i need to pack.

  16. Scarves. What wonderful inventions.

They keep your neck cold from the frigid air outside.
It could be snowing, or hailing. Your neck would be warm.

    So fluffy, and so comfy.

Just don’t buy an itchy one.

  17. Scarves are like people, each one has a different colorful personality. Although they are basically just pieces of fabric or knitted yarn, depending on how they are used, it’s how they express themselves. Picture a sparkly scarf tied to a microphone stand at a Stevie Nicks or Aerosmith concert. A fashionable wrap around the neck with boots and shorts, a business suit with a scarf draped over the shoulders or a lovingly knit one coiled around a neck of a child so they won’t be cold. They are so simple, but can make such a statement. I’m not sure of the origin of scarves, but I know they will probably be around for a very long time.

  18. When it’s cold outside and you see nothing but the swaying of the tall powerful trees who watch over you in an indifferent, yet wise manner, reminding you that there is life around you, and plenty of it, but it’s far– very far. You put on your scarf and you feel the hug, the warmth, and you remember that life can be close too: short bursts, between the colums of the watchmen.

  19. well, scarves could quite possibly be my favorite fashion accessory. I like to view it as an art form. Not the simple act of throwing on a scarf, but artfully tossing it on in any which way or mood you are in. Classy, boho, chic…. And then color schemes!….

  20. She wore them constantly. Inside and out. Around her neck it hung like a proud pendant, a hat, a fashionable purse. But what she failed to realize was that they were everything to her. They were who she was. Wrapped up and bundled. A make shift cacoon. Only donned in the colder months. Only worn out of fear of being noticed.

  21. are really nice and warm. I like wearing them. My girlfriends scarf looks really nice on her! Um…hahahahahha…..stoP!
I used to have a lot of scarves. Actually, my mom stole all of them (this is true) they’re nice and soooft :) my mom has this poofy green one which she got for my birthday, but she ended up keeping it

  22. The scarve was beautiful, but she did not love it. There were times when it would haunt her, like an old memory, peeking behind the cracked closet door. It was red, which was the color that reminded her most of the year 1987. Some days it resembled a noose, other days a parachute chord.

  23. I have about 20 to 30 scarves. And I’m not even a magician.

  24. I like scarves but I dont have that many of them. My sperm donor said that he was gonna start up a business and it was going to be booming. He said that I couldn’t tell anyone. He was talking about making scarves lol. I have a red cashmere scarf that I love…the only problem is that my ex gave it to me. I still love it though…the scarf I mean.

  25. Scarves are more of a fashion accessory where I live in California. You usually see people wearing them with shorts and UGG boots, not really using them for warmth. Some scarves are silky and sheer and remind me of belly dancers or tents in the Sahara. Others are nubby knitted and colorful, something that your grandma made for you. Knitting was fashionable for awhile and people made scarves because it was the easiest thing to make. I’m not sure what the history of scarves are, but I’m sure they will be around for a long time!

  26. haha, this is kinda funny and coincidental…I just got myself a new peacock scarf a few days ago. i never realized how many scarves i actually have until this one came, and i now have a brown/multicolored one, a blue one, the peacock one, and a black and white one that i wear regularly. i never saw a point to them until recently, and now i really like what they can do to an outfit.

  27. he felt like home, smelled like the ocean and fresh baked bread. The feel of his arms comforted like a favorite sweater and complimented like her favorite scarves

  28. I wear this light blue scarf not because it is cold, but because it is fashionable. I’m sitting at a coffee shop on the south end, typing on a Macbook, looking deep in thought as I scope out chicks. She’s an 6.5, maybe a 7 on a good day. God damn, there goes an 8. I think she noticed my scarf. It’s starting to itch a bit, but I’ll keep it on anyways.

  29. A beautiful blue scarf hung around her neck like a noose. I knew something was wrong the moment I saw that look on her face, but I never expected the truth.

  30. all these hipster idiots wearing scarves as soon as the temp drops below sixty degrees and then realizing that scarves are useless and they look like fools. never have worn one and i never will.

  31. In the world of fashion one of the largest and fastest growing trends across the world are scarves. Of course it may seem suprising that I would know this. Whenever people see my clothes they just laugh or walk away whispering to whoever accompanies them. I always mean to go get one of the new fashions trends but for some reason i always forget! ( 15 yr old w/ Alzheimers and doesn’t figure out til the end of book)

  32. Flitting past shoulders, the end of the blue scarf regaled. Regaled it’s silken beauty like a mid-air river.

  33. I wrap them tightly, like a noose, or loosely like a patterned drapery dangling from my neck. I keep it soft and feathery so that it rubs my face and feels nice. The cold shimmies the scarf back and forth, like the pendulum on a grandfather clock. the wind rushes past pushing the scarf to the left. I like this too.

    Jen christensen
  34. She wrapped it around her tightly. Any word, any emotion, even the slightest indication that she cared would be scoffed at by her teenage daughter. S0 she wrapped the scarf tightly instead, hoping love as well as the wool itself, would keep her warm.

    Annalise
  35. I’ve never been much for scarves. I live in Georgia and though it does get cold here, it’s just not exactly frigid weather, so they’re not needed quite as much.

  36. scarves.
    they are fuzzy.
I often don’t like them because when it’s cold they keep my face warm, but they also get all wet and cold when I breathe into them.
I have one from a goodwill-type store in Ohio.
    everyone thinks it’s homemade.
    it’s not.

  37. Two of them were made by mama and they’re being hijacked by a woman I thought I knew but turned out that I didn’t after all. So the only earthly relics of my mum are now with another person who turned out to be a stranger, living with another stranger whom I don’t know.

  38. His scarves were generally of a drab color, like the dusk on an Autumn day. He strangled his victims with them sometimes, though he wouldn’t carry one out of season for that particular purpose.

  39. Scarves, not scars. Scarves. . .

  40. Cold noses and fingers
    red skin contrasted
    with a whitewashed world
    where smells are frozen
    and the ground twinkles
    embedded with diamonds.
    Winter is upon us.
