out ahead of the pack; trailblazer- protecting or foreseeing the dangers and issuing cautions; the fortunate one who thru much struggle discovers a wonder
Where should we go? Where should we stay? In the old days we would have to send someone ahead… to find out what’s there? any good hotels? where can we eat? are there places to shop? Now we scout it out on the internet. c:

I wish I knew a talent scout.
I’d stalk them everyday, singing on the pavement just to try to get their attention.
I’m pathetic.
I realize.
I accept.
This doesn’t change the fact that I wish I knew a talent scout.

when i was a girl scout things were fun, yeah our troop tried to do a lot of work win the awards, but eventualy i think our leaders just gave up and realized we were bums and all we wanted to do was have fun. so we went to camp and we did sleepovers, mall lock ins and camping trips, the works. if we happened to earn a few badges along the way then that was cool, but mostly we were just content to be having fun and hanging out together. friends forever, or at least friends for now. it was the most fun times of my young life.

When I attended primary school I wanted to be a scout, i was encourage to join the movement. My mother thought that it was too dangerous, and felt that i might get hurt in all the physical activities.

I watched a youtube video recently which explained how the Boy Scouts of America has a rule that they don’t allow atheists or homosexuals to be scouts; this is supposedly justified because they’re a private company, but they actually get a shitload of money from the government. I’m glad Scouts Australia has no such rule.
She looked into the distance, seeing nothing on the gray blue horizon of the ocean. She was supposed to find something, she was sure, but there was absolutely nothing about. Waves crashed and tore and rose from the sea, and the skyline was fluid and shifting.
The color of the ocean reminded her of the color of his eyes.
If Scout said one thing, she almost always meant the opposite. She had a poker face to kill for. She counted herself sensitive to other people’s needs but could manipulate anybody if it suited her’s. She was not a tomboy, like her namesake from To Kill A Mockingbird, nor did she have siblings.
But she lived up to her name in one important way: you always had to search for her. She would never arrive, wrapped, ready for you to understand. She counted her ability to be a mystery as her main talent, an essential part of who she was.
a funny little old fashioned uniform, brown, too big for the boy, his skinny legs poking out the bottom, socks runkled around his ankles, an eager look on his shiney little face.

when I find the crossroads I’m going to put up a sign. The sign will say, “Billy Bob was here.” it will have a picture of myself carved into the plastic and it will tell everyone, “don’t worry, this is a good place, i have found it with my own eyes. One day if you’re walking down here be sure to know that someone knew what they were doing and stayed here.” Then they will walk a little way down the road. There will be a another sign which said, “Billy Bob was here, and is dead.”
Sometimes I find myself having strange urges to scout out supernatural things such angels or ghosts. I don’t exactly want to see one, since it would terrify my common sense, but my subconsciousness knows that it wants an out of the ordinary experience in order to truly live.
A little girl in to Kill a Mocking Bird. Playful, adventurous, even a bit irresponsible. She was stubborn and opinionated. Joyful and curious.

I found my Girl Scout membership card today – it is over twenty years old. I was surprised to see it because I don’t remember being a Girl Scout. I do, however, remember eating the cookies.

“Did we send a scout ahead?” Marcy remarked, as she glanced at the scenery going by. They were half a day out, and she was becoming more and more concerned.
The protagonist of my favourite book, To Kill a Mockingbird, is nicknamed Scout. She is scrappy eight year old, who questions everything, as eight year olds should.

I often think about why i didnt get into being a boyscout. that what i think at first when i hear this word. I wonder sometimes why i never got into it or why my parents didnt think it was vital for me to be in it. I wonder sometimes if this was something that could be the butterfly effect that would or would not change the way i see things. Who knows, im still happy as it is.
When i think of scouts i automatically think of the children who fill up their minds with new responsibilities of how to camp, set a fire, do all sorts of things. I sometimes wonder why i never got into it? why didnt my parents think that it was vital for me to do so. I dont blame them or feel bitter in anyway but i tend to think what would the difference be in my life, the butterfly effect that would or would not change the way i may see things. Who knows.

A scout came in search of the best of the best. He didn’t know specifically who he was looking for but he knew he headed in the correct direction. Talk around town was that this year, the team would win the championships for the small Minnesota town.

I saw a scout once, but he was running away from home. With the uniform on! no helping anyone across the street…he was only helping himself to a better life. I wonder if he took a tent? scout cookies? Matches? and ill always hope, but will really never know if he found a home.

As i set off into the sunset, I knew that I would have to scout around for a campsite oo\r I would be very tired by the morning.
As it happened, I found the ideal spot just by a creek.

At the end of the day all we really are is lonely. Some people join the army. Some poeple join the circus. Above all it takes a truly lost soul to join the girl scouts.

Girl scouts like to sell cookies, and I like to eat girl scout cookies because they are super duper delicious and I love them. I like the ones with caramel and coconut, and also the ones that are shortbread with lemon, they are amazing. I don’t know why they had to change the names of them. The original names were so good.

Scours always make me nervous. There were a couple of scouts at my last performance, and i was really dieing inside. Scouts are the really big people. They choose your future.

like boyscout? like one with a badge? i guess so. like that one dumb movie i watched with dane this summer? yeah that was funny. i didn’t expect that one stupid part that made us both laugh for like ten years. that was a good time. i miss my brother. he was never a boy scout, but i think he would have been kicked out any way. wouldn’t be a very smart choice on his part… he’d get in a fight. or something dumb like insult the fat instructer.

You go ahead and see what you can see. This Scout will sit and wait for you. You tell me what is needed, I will wait. I will wait for you to let me know what is needed to be done, to be achieved and it will be on you.
I just read this book about a Boy Scout group in which one teen dies on a hiking trip from lack of water. So I picture them running through the brush, stumbling, trying to find any liquid to save themselves. Or Scout, from To Kill a Mockingbird, which is really quite a good book. Books, I suppose.
They never saw the scout after that night, and although he had joined the Russian traveling circus, his gravestone back home read: “A country boy through and through.”
scout was the name of the little girl from to kill a mockingbird, correct? if i recall, the climax of that classic american novel was a little girl running through the woods wearing a ham suit. i wasnt impressed.

I wanted to scout out the path to the good life. The one I was on now was horrible. Nothing ever went right, and I was constantly let down by everyone. I never understood how things could get worse, but they always did. I was completely sick of the rush of bad luck in my life, and I just needed an easy way out. Even one day away from the chaos would have been appreciated. I was desperate.

“We’ll have to scout the area,” he said. “But sir, we already checked everywhere. No one gone saw her.” “Keep looking. No one has been lost under my watch,” he replied, “and I’m not going to change that today”.
i cannot believvve i am in this situation. the same one i have been in all along, all my life.. it’s like a time warps… im still in the mirrored dollhouse.

Scout was a term that no one really wanted to hear. Scout meant that something was missing and that something had to be found, and when it is this cold outside, who wants to go looking? James sure didn’t. James fucking hated how fucking cold it was outside. “Fuck this,” James said. James said it out loud because James was fucking crazy.
It was really cold.

Scout ran down the small hill. he couldn’t believe the air felt this good on his newly trimmed coat. ” Here boy,” Scout’s boy called from near the tree next to the old farm door.
