  2. Sheets and sheets and sheets of paper. Written words. Written thoughts. Thoughts that would never be consumed by another’s mind. Words and words and words. Never read. Never heard. *These* sheets of paper… they’re as useless as my thoughts.

    Iceman
  3. White. I like them white. At the moment I’m in sort of an exchange program, therefore, the house isn’t mine, meaning, I have to use the sheets they give to me. I don’t like blue sheets, they are ugly. I miss my white ones, that’s for sure.

  9. I want you tangled up in my sheets. I want the night to last forever, so I’ll rope up the stars and the moon. I want your scent to infect my sheets and linger there while you’re away as a reminder that you weren’t just something I imagined on a lazy day. Then, when the sun rises, I’ll wash my sheets and hang them to dry in the Spring breeze so they’ll be filled with innocence that erases all our sins.

    Kaylee Anderson
  10. Between the sheets is where the most moral and immoral secrets lie and where some of the fondest or more intense memories are made, whether they are overtaken by a lover, a childhood memory, a household chore, or the place you spent your most memorable vacation. Sheets are smooth and clean and fragile, just like a child but are so overlooked which is nothing less than a poor shame. Sheets trap the words you want to speak when you first awaken but are unable to say aloud because of the comfort and solidarity and warmth they entice their maker in. Purity is a sheet.

  11. How can I not think of sex.

Sweat, musty smell of human odor, the smooth cotton slipping over my thighs.

Every night, as I close my eyes and wildly turn into a intoxicated slumber, I can’t help but run my hands over my bikini line and wonder who will be next to be under here with me.

  12. I pull my blanket over my head
as if the ideas floating around my room
can’t attack my fragile brain while underneath.
but the only thing that it seems to do
    is make me painfully aware
of my short and heavy breathing,
    my heart pumping and beating,
    and questions of its continuance.
    how can I live
without the soul I bestowed upon you?

  22. I like flannel sheets, and yesterday my mom and I went shopping to find some cute flannel sheets to give my little sister for her ‘big girl’ bed. All the ones we could find looked way too grown up, or were puke green. =/ We finally found some cute snowman ones, but then we discovered that they don’t come in twin, the size we need.

I’m close enough to feel you breathe
But my fingers grasp on lifeless cloth
    Instead of warm skin.

    But we both know
Neither of us will take that chance.
So this blanket of snow will settle
On the life we once dreamed
    And never achieved.
