  2. i think that sometimes when you’re on a ship you lose yourself. You’re caught thinking about the birds and the waves and the overall serenity so you’re not completely focused on everything that plagues you. I’ve been on a ship, there were good parts and bad, but you never really know exactly where you could possibly go.

  3. “Ship it,” I said, her eyes narrowing, her mouth consorting to a shape skin to a butterfly. The stares from the people around beat on the back of my neck like the sun on a hot summer’s day.

    “No,” she said.

  4. the advent of high speed broadband made the clipper ships obsolete. there are no ships anymore except for those that remain. and even some of those may be superfluous and redundant. a ship in time saves nine, so goes the old saying. a township is a boat with a town on it. a ship is between people and/or characters on a tv show, like an acquaintanceship for example. if it please your lordship would you like seabiscuits with tea. once upon a time, fleets of skeleton ships sail sandy seas in an airless void. there is no ship like boatpersonship.

  6. The ship was enormous. Huge sails, which captured the wind. She stood, looking out on the ever changing sea, the same wind that made the ship fly over the waves, an easy breeze on her cheek.

  9. It looks ordinary. Nothing special. Just a blue box. If only you knew. It’s alive. It’s the whole of time and space. It’s a ship. A magnificent ship. You’ll see it, out of the way but in plain view. You won’t think twice about it. But the ship, the TARDIS, means he’s near.

  18. They ship it all out. The garbage, the unwanted, the rubbish… discarded and useless and dirty and broken, and the damaged beyond repair. Never offered the option of salvation- now that would be too difficult. So we ship it all out.

  21. The ship sailed swiftly thru the ocean, cutting it like a knife. Its mast hung in the air, overbearing above the freedom of the sails.

  22. Drenched in sunlight, rather than the expected salt-water, the bones of an abandoned ship is seen lying on the shore. Left alone to dry out, left alone to create architectural beauty on a long stretch of a sandy beach. Left by the people it belongs to, left to tell its ocean journeys to the world.

  29. I have a boat but i wish i could describe it as a ship because that sounds very classy. a ship is never a powerboat, it is a sailboat. I can imagine sitting on a ship in the summer on the lake and drinking something fruity in the sun — its beautiful.

  38. this ship has sailed.

“As I leave shore, I ponder the Titanic, and so many other doomed ships. My craft, a kayak built for two but holding only one, glides through the predawn haze. And as I cleave the water with my paddle, I think: Of course it was foolish to escape here again, to run away from my demons instead of confronting them, and I’ll regret it later. But for now, there is only the swiftness of the craft and the rough wood of the paddle and the still morning water–quiet as I navigate the churning oceans of my own mind, and steer around the icebergs of my own (dumb, stupid, foolish!) creation.”
