  1. Today the shower burned me unbearably. I jumped out…..cowering against the wall for a moment before realizing….I was hiding from a shower.

  2. every winter time my personal hygene suffers to some extent because I endlessly toil over the prospect of having to be naked in the cold before getting into the shower. And then once in the shower the fish suffer because I spend far too long contemplating when I will get out of the security of the warmth and back out into the brutal cold.

  5. I dont’ get to take a shower as often as I like because I take care of my kids more than myself. It’s a great luxury!!!! I love to be by myself in the shower but then I worry about hearing kids crying or something. I hear voices in the water running but then I try talk myself out of it.

  12. I woke up yesterday morning and I went to the bathroom. I got in the shower and stood there for 25 minutes without moving; the steam felt good on the feet. The water was hot and soothing. I wish my whole day could make me feel the way I feel when I’m in the shower. I wish people could make you feel that way.

  14. Have you ever started to fall in the shower? It’s one of the singular most horrifying experiences. For a second you think you may die, or get knocked out and drown. Then you consider who’s home with you, if anyone and whether you locked the bathroom door or not. How long would they wait before coming to check on you if they didn’t hear you fall? I wonder how long before you would drown in the puddle of your own soapy water…

I always wondered why they call it a ‘shower’ possibly because you are showered with love, encouragement, support and good wishes. That seems plausible.

  18. At home i have a shower, and it sucks. Im a student living in Norway. My neighbor is a Polak who is contantly smoking in the shower. So when i use my towel i smell like a cigarette.

  21. Wet warm tepid bloody cold, viruses pouring out of the shower head covering my clean hair with muck from another dimension hardly warm now and getting colder but water flowing easier. Finding stillness and wetness around my feet and breathing fast to move my body around as if I were a being of passion and a woman of torture. Torture who??

  22. getting all soapy and clean. what more could you want in the morning. the warm sensation upon your neck the refreshing of the mind. a shower is one of the best ways to wake up. too bad i can’t always get one in.
