  1. Sitting in a chair. And a bear…and something else irrelevant. And then the sun shines and the flowers die from the incoming frost that kills everything in the area bringing on a new Ice Age when mamoths and sloths and shit roam the area in prospect of finding ..someplace less cold. Then the sloth sitting in his own lameass chair does something to trip some crazyass switch… The sun comes back on.

So now they’re all screwed while the human race is dead from the ice age. All sitting dead in a previously temperate then frozen then temperate again landscape.

    Be kind to the sun….

  3. There was a frog sitting on the stoop again. She bend down to see it closer, then had a startling image of herself kissing it just like in the fairytales. She stopped herself just in time. The frog made a nervous “croak” then hopped back into the sewer.

  4. When I was living at my first assignment, my to-be wife came to visit me while I was living in the dormitories. We didn’t do much, but I remember buying two distinct things: Stargate SG-1 on DVD (which we watched until completed), and the chair I’m still sitting in

  5. at a chair I pondered pondering and came to no conclusion… Other than 60 seconds under pressure is still a long time. A very long time…

  6. Sitting in a chair. One person, all alone. A person, a sunbeam, a book and some tea. Just sitting, passing the time. Alone, but at peace. She’d die happy, but the sun is still up, maybe later, perhaps,. But for now, she’ll remain as is. Sitting quietly, book in hand, watching the hours pass her by, forever at peace.

  10. i am sitting down right now. sitting hurts here because i am in the library and there aren’t any chairs because it’s exam week and i’m on the floor instead. i accidentally chose to sit under an air vent and am now miserable from the airconditioning. i was thinking about getting some tea but i don’t think that will help much.

  12. It hurts my bum. Most of the time. No matter the chair, I always seem to walk away with a certain ache to my ass, it throbs most uncomfortably I must admit. Even when I fidget into what I hope is a more accommodating position, it only seems to hurt just that much more. And even if I’ve managed to avoid the pain, my new ‘comfortable’ position is usually some weird formation of my legs which always leaves them either sore or numb.

  13. Right now I am sitting , I don’t really like sitting but I do it far too much anyways.
    i’m a runner not a sitter.

  14. sitting is something we all must do in order to relax our legs. It provides us with time to think and reflect upon the day. It allows us to converse with one another more comfortably and to engage in video games more easily. Sitting is very good for your back and is a necessary part of life. Should sitting be eliminated or otherwise outlawed we will all be dead.

  15. As I sat pondering in the library, I developed a certain penchant for noise. That I should begin to yell was my only thought, and I could not stop it.

  16. Sitting is what you do when you have to do the thing that must be done to do the things that can only be done while sitting. Why would one sit when one can stand and scream to the world that you love the world and all the good people in it with all of your heart? Sitting isn’t the position one wants to be in when the world comes to an end. The world needs standers to stand up and see the world for what it is…What is the world when you are sitting. It is a world in which you are not standing up for what you need for what you want for what you can do with the world. Don’t sit. Stand…for something. Stand for anything. Stand up for yourself.

  17. On top of the soft cushions, the man, like a hells-angel santa clause, sat. He was slouched and wrinkled, much like the pillow which he sat on. A posture of regret, and forgiveness

  18. I’m just sitting here, thinking. Where do I go next? Apparently, I’ve chosen where I am in life by selecting “right” instead of “happy” too often. Would you rather be right, or happy? Being right has nothing to do with it…

    Happy. Make the choice. Now.

  19. I was sitting on a rock by the lake with my dog, Bijou, next to me. It was cold and Bijou was shivering. I unzipped my coat and brought him inside of it with me. We looked out over the lake together. His black nose twitched in the breeze. He seemed truly interested in the view. I didn’t know dogs could appreciate beauty in that way.

  23. At my desk, the only thing to do is to stare blankly at a screen, the only real thing going through my mind is that I’m comfy, and don’t really want to move. Maybe that was my motive in the first place… In writing I was seeking comfort, here in my chair I found it.

  25. So I am sitting here
    Here alone
    A moment reprieved
    Struck cold, shivering bone
    Absent of another soul
    Missing her dearly
    The days are tough
    Arduous work
Streaming loneliness in the bitter rain
Protected by the clothes she lent
Allowing the warm diffuse into my skin
It’s the only thing I have of her
Keeping company til she returns to my arms
But it’s never going to be enough
    Am I that selfish?
Not asking for much but a simple hold
The hold that binds us together
Forever keeping us safe from the outside chaos
I tell her that I will always take care of her
Heart begins to spark after words told
    My heart never deceive me
So used to the pain in the stomach
Used to symbolized my forever loneliness
After the first hold, finally disappearing
    Not even slowly dissipating
Gone like a staccato in a change of music
And here I sit missing her
    Driving me to insanity
    Just wanting to rescue her
    Giving her newfound attention
    Loving her past imperfections
    And loved in return
    What is better than that..?
    I miss her

  26. i am sitting right now, it’s relaxing considering I’m sick. One usually sits in a chair but couches are nice too. Earlier i was sitting on the grass outside on the quad enjoying the sun. Sitting is what most american’s do now-a-days because they’re all to busy on their computers and t.vs. You burn very few calories while sitting because it’s relaxing.

  27. Is sitting all this site talks about my god! I just saw a girl who wrote this really nice flowing visual piece about sitting. and one about a guy who misses his girlfriend or something who probably also is sitting. I wish i could sit at my spot back home in the rain and just watch the cove thrash in the stormy waves. Yeah, sitting.

  28. what I’m doing on this chair not on a board or a plank. I slouch terribly not like a board or plank at all. Why am I not on a cushion? What is the “natural way” to sit? Is there one or two and if so should we do that or is man-made the opposite of natural and so natural is not natural to a human? Sitting.

  29. i was sitting in class when he came in, hair a-flowing and blue eyes gazing. I felt a pang of guilt when he wandered to the front of the class and introduced himself as Professor Gibbs “but you can call me Max”.

  31. Sitting is what I do in the morning… when I’m good about it. I call it sitting. I sit in meditation. Zen meditation in the Rinzai tradition. Rinzai is called Warrior Zen as opposed to Soto which is called Farmer Zen. No prejudice… just differing philosophies. KWATZ!!!!!

  34. Sitting on your ass all day is the greatest, you don’t have to wory about career, income, assholes, jerks, bosses, posers….etc
on the other hand it might not be that great cause one day you’ll wake up at 70 finding out that all you’re life experiences are through a TV.

  36. I am sitting here wondering who found my wallet. Whomever they are, they are dishonest for not turning it in or trying to find its rightful owner. This saddens and frustrates me. Is this a consequence of bad karma or just a thief’s way of thinking they have hit the jackpot? I, being an honest individual, find myself suffering the horror of having to replace my personal identity. If you are out there, and you found my wallet, I am not concerned with the money therein, only retrieving my personal identity. Could the wallet God please bless me with some sort of return? A grateful Thank-You is bestowed upon the finder who has the courage to come forward. Blessings.

  39. Down in the chair she realized that it would only be a matter of time before she got sick of always being the bridesmaid and never the bride. Granted, she couldn’t exactly handle all of the responsibilities that entailed “Bridedom” but sitting here she decided maybe she’d rather be standing somewhere else. one day anyway.

  40. She was sitting there. Just sitting. I wonder what she is thinking about. She has a newspaper by her side, but she isn’t reading it. Maybe she’s waiting for someone? I don’t know. I wonder if she’d be offended if I sat down next to her and tried to talk? Maybe ask her name, maybe get her number? She’s looking up at the sky now. I think she’s following the kites that the children are flying in the park. I do that too sometimes.
