  2. I walked past a couple ice skating on the pond today. They were lost in their own world, oblivious to everything and everyone in their surroundings. It’s nice to see such youthful love every once in a while. It reminds me of the good times, when I was young and the future seemed to be bursting with limitless possibilities.

  6. skating is fun. people who skate generally have very good flexibility and stamina. skating is something i always wished i could do but unfortunately never had the necessary skills. I still would one day like to take the time to actually learn the art of skating and improve myself as and athlete

  7. such a nasty ray like fish, the skate. maybe it is a ray. i don’t even know. all i do know is that i once saw some kids on a reality – challenge type show eat some. and it looked pretty gross. like something that you’d throw back if you caught it on your line.
or maybe you meant like roller skate… who knows!

    Melissa
  8. Kids enjoying pissing off older folks, ice, street, teenagers, stalefish, allies and the what not, vans, airwalk

    Eli
  9. Skating makes me think of my friend Natalie buying Vans and saying, “These are skateboarder shoes.” Her feet are so tiny we had to shop in the children’s section. Driving her to the mall to go shoe shopping was great fun, even though we didn’t find a photo booth like we’d been hoping. On the way home we stopped at Steak&Shake for cheese fries and milkshakes. A perfect day.

  10. i know a lot of people who know nothing about the world… the only reason you feel them when they’re near.. is because they give off a sence of gratitude, being dumb, knowing nothing, even loneliness.

    Shawn
  11. Flat fish with wheels and wings. Roller blades & ice blades all great ways to break a limb. zooming round in circles trying not to look stupid and expecting to be the new Torville & Dean

    Rez
  12. Skate on thin ice until your legs can no longer carry you. Skate on toward the end of the lake and see where came from. Skate, glide and stretch until you are far from shore and life little thoughts.

  14. roller girl yeah that was one of the songs on that dire straits album way back in the days of skateboards with fishtails. skate is also a kind of fish, skate is also another word for decrepit horse look it up. also to skate can mean to to proceed in a superficial or blithe manner which is what i’m doing today.

  15. Skating. Skate park. Rollerblading in Chicago. Rollerskating at a rink. Ice skating in the park. Ice skating on the lake. Those sneakers with the wheels in them. Freaking awesome. I miss my rollerblades. Really. I wish I had them again.

  18. Skateboarding, something that I grew up around. Boys being boys and competing for the best tailside kickflip and all of those ridiculous tricks. Self-sacrifice in order to attain perfection. Anything goes in skateboarding. There were no rules, no limits.

  19. this is adnan. i like skaterboys skaterboys remind me of twinks, and that too nice skinny ones. Besides skatting is also a good excericise, requires balance which is missing in our lives. Lives, the thing we live in. THis cursor went red, skating is awesome, so is life and so are skater boys.

  20. I tried to skate several times in college. I took the ice-skating class each semester for almost two years, and each time I ended up dropping out. i wanted to glide and be graceful and lovely, and all I ended up was with sore ankles and a cold butt. Not so graceful after all.

    Megan
  21. I love to skate. Actually, last time I went skating I fell on my butt (EXTRA HARD) and had to go the the Dr. the next day b/c I thought I broke my tail bone. Although, I was in pain- it was a HUGE laugh for my students! Come to think of it, I’m in pain now just thinking about it. I take that back… I don’t like skating at all.

    Tiffany
  22. I learned to skate as a kid. Now days skating is a whole differernt world. It’s kinda crazy that kids actually want to be “skaters.” I don’t quite understand the mentality, but that’s just me. Maybe I just loosely associate them with the

  23. i skate forward in time
and my feet glide across solid ice
my hands, so stiff, so cold
    are feeling numb
and i hear voices in my head
    but that’s all
    i am happy
to be here, in this life, in this world.

  25. i hate skating. i think its the most over rated activity in the world. yet, i take a sick pleasure in skating my self. I think that the only reason i enjoy such a sport is because of the fact that it takes so much coordination to accomplish that not everyone else can do it. to do something that no one else can do is valueble in itself, regardless of its actual personal entertainment and fun.

  26. skating along a cold winters pond, swish swish down the river we go. we skate over problems we skate over life, why not just dig the toe pick in a little bit? When the ice melts, what will we do then? as far as I am concerned none of us are jesus, and we cannot skate on un frozen water. Best of luck.

    Maggie Waterman
  27. I am not very good at skating-went last week with the kids-my skates are too tight. They aren`t even mine but I have my friends permission to trade them in. It is also very hard to skate with a 3 year old in your arms. Need the arms for balance.

    Lisa
  28. I really admire the grace and elegance of ice skaters. This is why I aspire to be a veteran ice skater someday – in achieving this goal, I’m going to train myself in rollerblading first. Unfortunately, I fell down a couple of weeks ago when practising and almost broke my spine. This is making me reconsider my goal to want to iceskate.

    Celes
  29. Ice skating is so much fun. It’s kind of like rollerblading, which is something I used to do when I was a kid. When you watch pros ice skate they make it look so easy. yeeeah

  30. Skate along the wire, thin and taut…. fire on one side, wetness on the other…. at the end a great prize.

Late at night when the owls hoot and mice scurry… the silence is a defining roar in your ears.. You remember…. a time when life was warm and safe no razors edge to skate on, no decisions to make for others, you took prioity.

Look up and smile at the eyes that meet your gaze, skate slowly and surley into the embrace…. You gladly release your oneness have found your prize!

    Teri
  31. It’s along a flat surface that you’re able to skate perfectly. Not that bumpy surfaces don’t have their joys. An old pebbled street is great at making you feel jumpily alive.

    ali
  32. many people like skateboarding cause its fun and sometimes they get quite injured whilst skating avril lavigne has a song about a skaterboy but i think skating is just for showing off and looking klike an idiot

    Peter
  33. round and round and round. He couldn’t stand her anymore. Not his daughter. He loved her even if she hadn’t been his idea. He’d been tricked into it, he was beginning to think. No, his wife, she was the one he couldn’t stand.

    caitlin
  34. A couple of my friends are going skating today. I shouldn’t say that. A couple who are my friends are going skating today. That is far more accurate, but is it necessary? I think not, it’s not as if you care about the truth of what I write here.

    Andrew Meare
  35. I am skating on thin ice with this one. The pond is frozen over but there may be spots where I could slip and fall through. God I hate that thought of drwoning in a sea of ice. The cold wouldn’t be the worst part. It would be the waiting, the hope that someone would come and rescue me before I gave up and let go.

    Bill
  36. I think skating isn’t as bad as people say it is. It teaches you balance and hones your agility. In theory, skaters could take over the world with proper motivation and training. I mean, just look back at Gleaming the Cube with Christian Slater. If they can manage to take down a few bad guys with their plain, old decks and no training, they could take over the world.

    Bryan Evans
  37. It was their favorite thing to do. Jody and Jake were always together at the rink, rolling around on their roller skates, round and round and round at a dizzying speed. The held hands and did tricks, and many were amazed at their skill. And all they could do was smile at each other with each lap of the rink.

  38. My brothers passion, they do it everyday, they think about it everyday. It’s their life. One day they are going to be professional skateboarders, I know it, we all know it. It’s like a gift given to them. They’re only 11 and 14, but they have been doing it for years and are amazing at it. I guess it runs in the blood.

    HeatherLace
  39. Something you do with a friend. The ice, it’s cold and unforgiving. I once tried to skateboard and let’s just say it didn’t turn out so good. Writing about a single word is no fun. Steve Irwin was killed by a stingray which is similar to a skate. Typing, typing, taka-taka-taka.
