  1. I don’t think you knew that five years later, I’d be afraid of my own voice–that every time I picked up a goddamn mic, I could never stop from smearing into air. These notes are butterflies burning in my throat, until they hop out and coo like Barbary doves (one part desperate, one half jagged). I think sometimes, I still call to you. and maybe that’s the hardest part.

  2. the sly fox was hungry and i got hungry from thinking about it because i want cookies. i’m making a gluten free cake for my friend soon and i don’t know how it’ll taste also i have a maybe crush on him but my friend might too? i think so, but i don’t want to ask i like him a lot though :( idk anymore

  3. He slid in slyly to the back of the room hoping not to be noticed. The service had already begun, he knew if they noticed him there, they would cause a commotion. He knew he was not welcome, but he just could not force himself to stay away. He still loved, it did not matter what they thought. He was his father too no matter how much they butted heads. He had rights to be there He had the right to say goodbye, but he had too much respect for him to cause a scene at his funeral. He would leave before the service was over and then go to the grave site once they were all gone. He would have his chance to say goodbye. To tell him he was sorry that he never meant to shoot him. To plead his case as to why he shot.

  4. sly is a fox, it is cleverness and rileyness (is that how you spell that), it is the way people wriggle out of tough situations and get around things without confronting them or addressing them, sly is the fox

  5. Im not quite sure what this word means but it implies trickery and dishonesty. I am feeling this with my best friend right now because she often has ulterior motives in our friendship. She is secretly very selfish although many people do not see that. It makes her very hard to be around.

  6. don’t even think about being sly with me. I’m a detective, I am

  7. I am a sly cat with no mouse betwixt my paws and I pause slightly before going back into my sly mansion. I am a cat with no mouse betwixt my sly and I pause slyly before backpedaling into the mouse behind me. “AH!” it shrieks and scampers to safety. Or rather, attempts to, since I am a sly cat and I catch it and eat it.

  8. The sky was the color that you only see in the movies, pink and blue intertwined like lovers in the night. I don’t believe I had ever seen anything more beautiful until she sat down next to me on the park bench and I swear my heart beat straight from my chest.

  12. When I think of the word “sly”, I think of a person being quick and clever. I picture someone who always seems to get away with things because they are always one step ahead. I wonder whether this would be known as a good or a bad trait though as the goal of one’s life should never be to be one step ahead… right?

  13. you sly little cat
    you old cat
you tall dark and handsome cat
    you foolish boy

    but the worst is
    you probably will

  14. and the Family Stone….he was a sly old dog, that’s for sure. I loved him, but he really did think he was a rock star…and he wasn’t. But he had adopted the nickname Sly back in the day and he was sticking to it. The things we do for love.

  15. Sly as a fox, quick as a whip.
Sharp as a tack, sneaky like a snake.
He creeps into your heart and takes residence.
He’s cunning but deceitful, and charming but evil.
He makes you love him and then leaves you.
But he was already inside of you.

  16. Slick and sly, right, by your eyes. Your eyes. Tender brown with shock spots full of moss. I can not flicker past the sparks in your sockets. You always see right through me.

  17. Trader Vics, Tiki-Wiki, is my place to say cats have paws. Ain’t’ that sly y’all? I ain’t’ axing ya’, I’m telling ya’.

  18. They came at him sideways, crabwise, liquid. Violence he was prepared for. Manipulation, infiltration, all the tools of warcraft were at his disposal. He hadn’t prepared for, couldn’t prepare for an attack from the gods. Disease had carried off more than half of his population and now his ancient enemy came offering the cure. All he had to do was abdicate. Join the empire.

  19. Just fyi, Rosia and QueenOfTea are the same person, I didn’t steal her stuff :)

  20. I gathered what little belongings I had and jogged up to the lighthouse, slipping a few times on the slime-covered rocks, I had to keep moving, I could sense eyes on me but I dared not to look back. I stumbled up to the lighthouse and had to shift the weight in my arms to reach the keys in my pocket. They slipped out of my grasp and I let out an almost inhuman wail. The heavy rain was already washing a new wave of mud over the ground and my hair was matted over my eyes to my cheekbones. It took me a moment to locate my keys in the dirt but the pink ribbon made them easy to spot. I picked them up and fumbled with the lock before finally pushing the door open and falling onto the black and red tiled floor.

  22. Her feet made no noise on the roof she was walking on. She tossed her gun between her hands as the cool night air blew through her hair. She aimed at her target down on the ground. She fired.

  23. They called him “slick,” or “a silver-tongued devil.” Most times, he was just confident enough to strike up a conversation with people about what was occurring around him. He considered himself a sly fox.

  24. I am sly. I like to be sly when it comes to stealing things from people, because if I am sly enough, they will not notice, and I will not get caught. Being sly is essential when it comes to being sneaky, obfuscating certain glances of attention from witnesses in either daily situations or political ones. I’ve noticed I can continue writing even though the time limit as run out. I am being sly in this way, by choosing to get more writing time in even though I’m technically not supposed to, or even when I’ve gone over that set time limit. This is why, I am sly.

  25. The sly fox just stood there. He thought that the little rabbit wasn’t paying him any attention. He jumped toward the rabbit when all of a sudden the rabbit was gone. The little rabbit had tricked the fox.

  26. He sent a sly smile her way, all teeth and dishonest sincerity. She wasn’t quite fooled.

  27. -where did she go now- he thought, praying that she hadn’t left, hadn’t given up on him. one moment she was all his flirting, laughing, smiling, touching, lingering. Now she wouldn’t look twice. he wanted her fiercely. she knew. she had to know. Then in an instant there she was but this time on another mans arm. He’d missed his chance. He mourned inside and wanted to lash out at the world. -there goes the best thing that ever happened to you, you damn fool!- the thoughts spiraled out of control when she looked. It was only a moment. but she caught his gaze, smiled her small sly smile and winked. The game was back on. she was so sly, so devious. He loved it.

  28. You sly dog, what are you doing with my girlfriend? How can you be so crude? We’re done. We’re through, Jeffery. I cannot stand the way you leave your dirty underwear on the side of the bed. However, men tend to do that, so I shan’t hate upon your person too heavily.

  29. Klara grunted, as if merely associating with Vince would be the end of the world. She grabbed the bottle of lotion off her dresser and glared at her sister. “Ugh, please. Vince is your friend, not mine. Besides, you know I don’t do boyfriends.”

A sly grin spread across Leah’s face. “I never said anything about Vince being your boyfriend.”

Klara groaned, ignoring the heat that flushed her face as she grabbed a random item on her dresser and flung it at her twin. “Go and be annoying somewhere else, please!”
