  3. Problem solving is to adaptation as orgasm is to hearing a choir of angels sing in your mind. It’s that hallelujah moment when “La Luz”, well, she shines like mega watt lightbulb.

Or in other words, it’s all in the way you jiggle the skeleton key into the stubborn lock. Click, click, pop!

And as a genuine lock pick, I rejoice when I come across a pattern that requires great effort to navigate. Without the latter there can be no “great reward.” And there’s nothing like a mountain full “reward” to inspire “great motivation.” So I say: ¡Viva la soluciones!

How do we truly know when something is resolved, solved, completed?

    Sarah

Skipping down the street with her new jumprope, Marcie was counting not only the number of times skipped, but the number of times she wished Jimmie Wilkins to fall out of the old oak tree for pulling on her pigtails and throwing her book bag into a garbage can. She wanted him to hurt the way she hurt. As she skipped down the middle of the street, she never saw the out-of-control tractor-trailer that mowed her over. Tragic, yes, but Jimmie’s stalker problem was solved before it started.

There was no way he would be able to make sense of the equation, let alone solve it completely, in the time left before the exam was over. He was going to fail.

    Rebecca Webber

  17. A problem comes up, and you just have to do something about it. So the real question becomes whether or not you should kill it or obliterate it, or let it walk around and stir it in your mind. Is it worth solving? Or is there more potential in allowing it to be free? You can just sit back and watch, to see what the rest do. That way, you won’t make a mistake in discovering whether or not they will miss it.

  19. Sometimes I feel like if I desecrate enough pieces of lined paper, if I grind up enough pencils, if I sit for enough hours, all my problems will be solved.
It would be a long, nail-biting, hair-pulling process, and several objects would be smashed in the process, but then the lightbulb moment would come, and ding-ding-ding! Problem solved.
Too bad it’s never that simple.

  20. “I think I solved the problem that’s got you so warped.” He said, carefully sorting through the various journals and loose papers. “Oh, really?” She murmured, dubious. “Yes, really.” It was obvious that this girl had no faith invested into this proposed solution, but seeing as there wasn’t anything else lined up at the moment, it was certainly time to throw caution to the wind.

  22. I wish all my problems would just solve themselves

but it doesnt work that way

what fun would solving a puzzle be

if you didn’t have to work for it

and you didn’t do any work

    Caitlin

  33. solved. it’s a word i wish i could use so much more. i wish i could always look at a problem and say that it’s solved within a matter of seconds. it’s just so satisfying isn’t it? to see a problem, and then see a solution right away. to be able to say you’re done with something and it’s been done right. i wish that could happen to me all the time.

    Parth
