  5. sombre is a word I have no idea what it means. It first appeared that it had to do with sleep – doesn’t it sound like sombre mood would be a sleepy mood. Or, could it be a Mexican hat – a form of sombro. Who knows – I need to look in a dictionary. Oh, for fun, to learn a new word.

  10. Holy cow, I don’t even know what this means. It reminds me of sombrero, and that is spelled wrong, I think. I think it means that it is something laid back, not real active, subdued. Is that the meaning? I’ll sure have to look this one up, but that’s wha I think it is. Tell me, please. I usually am pretty good with words, but under pressure, you see what I can do. Ha! Tell me when my time is up, my fingers are already getting sore. What am I going to do? It was fun to try, though. Are you going to let me know how I did? Maybe I don’t want to know, afterall. Ha!
Afraid to look reality in the face, I’m supposing.
OK I’m about done. My words are phasing out. When is the time up. If I really knew what I was talking about, I would be writing something sensible for a minute, not this jibberish! I’m glad you don’t know me, this would make me want to hide my name and my face, for sure. Tell me it’s time. I never knew a minute could be so long, for crying outloud!! It must be here already! You are just playing with me now, I know. Come on! OK I’ll just wait a few seconds and see what happens.

  18. Dark shadows. She sits on her bed. Window to her left. Book in her hands. But she is having trouble reading. Other things on her mind. Through the window she sees gloom. Misty and cool. An old oak tree is swaying gently. It’s leaves of golden yellow and soft orange. A constant reminder of the soon-to-be death of the very nature outside her door. And possibly within.
