  4. spaces that I didn’t know were there keep coming to me in dreams while I am awake. I try to go to them in sleep but they become further and further away while my current position gets worse and worse. I need to get out before the time comes that this is all over.

    And then there are the spaces in space. Where we can’t reach. Where I wish I could go. And I can’t.

    Just like the spaces where you are. Where I can’t be. Because each time I am. My heart beats too fast. And you glare at me thinking, “That girl takes up too much space in these spaces that are forever and never.” And I think, “All these spaces are filled up my wishes that the space I am, would make your spaces smile.”

    Look outside your window. If it’s night time, you’ll see stars, if it’s not cloudy. But much more significant are the black spaces between the stars.

    That’s what most of the universe is made of. The spaces between the galaxies.

    An empty balloon isn’t a bad model of the universe.

  27. There are parts of Tokiya’s life that I don’t know about. Spaces that I can’t see into because he hides them from me. I guess I can understand why. Yakuza stuff isn’t something I should worry about since I’m just a kid, and I could be in danger by knowing more than I should. but still, I feel that I’m locked out and I wish he’d let me in a little more. He’s all I have after all.
