The spider climbs up the waterspout, all limbs out, close as she can, body flat, toes reaching, inching slowly, to find a place, a small corner to weave herself a rest.
I am a spider. Humans say they are scared of me. They are walking mountains and THEY are scared of ME. What is that all about? I am utterly terrified of them. They can squash me without even noticing. What could I ever do to them. Sometimes they say we are unnatural because we have 8 legs, so they squash us, or throw us outside in the cold where we can’t survive. We don’t sting, nor bite in any way that would affect you, humans. Well not in this part of the world anyway. Why don’t you grow some and stop being so absurd. Please leave us alone to weave our webs and live our lives in peace.
Solar Flare
The lighting in the dimly lit room and its shadow, made the spider seem larger than it was. She froze, not wanting it to know that she was there in the room. Her friend came in and saw her distress, picked the spider up and threw it outside.
Chanpheng
Trivial as it may be
A spider came crawling
Next to me
I jumped with fright
Then saw its eyes
Looking back at me
With worry and fear
I got up and ran
To the rear
Of my bedroom
Where it was not at
With a jump and a spin
It was back at it
Again
Oh lord help me
The spider is my
enemy
