  1. Itsy bitsy, climbing up spouts of water. Then it rained, interrupting it’s ascent, causing it to fall. As the weather changes, and the sun showed its countenance, the spider was able to climb once again.

  2. I don’t like spiders. They scare me. One time when I lived in New Jersey, I went with my brothers to the background. They found a behemoth spider in a tree. I’m pretty sure it was a tarantula, but how did it get there?! All I know is that it scared the crap out of me. I hate them… Maybe someday I won’t be afraid of them anymore. But that’s unlikely.

  3. There better not be a spider on my back. There better not be a spider on my back. I’m not going to move until you confirm that there is no bloodthirsty arachnid making itself comfortable in my hood. Get over here right now and relay to me the situation in as calm a tone of voice as you can muster. There better not be a spider on my back.

  4. ahhhhh there is a spider on the wall! He is a oily black with an apple red dot on his hind quarters. I wonder what he likes to do with his family?

  5. Big and hairy,
    Something I despise,
    Hanging down by a thread,
    Close to near your head.
    Unique webs, spun so well.

  6. all legs and big sharp fangs

I watched in fascination as the spider tugged the huge fly, bigger than himself, up a shimmering web of silk..

  7. Spiders have eight legs. Ron Weasely from Harry Potter has a phobia of spiders. Spiders scare the hell outta me. We found a buzzing spider in my bedroom one night. It also had an ability to fly. The word spider has six letters. It starts with an “s”. Spiders are insects.

  8. went up the water spout.

  9. I nearly walked right over it without a glance, it was that small. Eight tiny legs walking slowly across the floor. Time was not an issue, it would get there whenever it would get there. Every inch the spider took it risked its life. Life itself was a risk, but still it took its time in every detail of its life.

  10. Eight legs and a million eyes. These arachnids haunt my nightmares. The whole phobia started way before Lord of the Rings, and it’s stuck with me through childhood. Every time I see one I dissolve into a screaming, gibbering mess. That was how he found me. I was huddled up in the corner of the bathroom, wrapped in a towel, tears streaming down my face. My voice had long since died out and now all I could do was sob silently. Oh God! It’s going to kill me! He tired to comfort me, even washed the spider down the bloody drain, but nothing calms me, not until I get some sleep after the incident. Sometimes I wish I wasn’t so scared. One day it’s going to get me into trouble.

  11. there was a spider on my bed when i woke up this morning. i hurried off the bed towards the bathroom to grab a cloth. at once i ran back to the bed to capture the spider under the cloth. i quickly ran to the toilet and flushed it down the toilet. i feel bad to have flushed it, but there were no open windows i could’ve thrown it out of so this was my best option given the circumstances.

  12. everything was amazingly simple.she could just as easily move one of her metal spider legs as view a moment from the creature’s past….just ones and zero’s.there, she found her (her?!?was she once a her?!?) eyes.rejection was not being as lucky

  20. It sees the target from afar, and waits in the corner of its elegant net for the prey to come to it. Like a black hole, once it enters, the poor thing can never escape from the spider’s wrath.

  21. I have a huge fear of spiders. One time I was praying and this spider crawled underneath my eye. It was the most disgusting thing in the entire world. One time I heard a story where a spider laid an egg in someone’s ears. She had a headache and went to the doctor. Then OMG the spider egg cracked open and she had all these baby spiders on her brain.

Another time I did a project for school on spiders.

  22. I hava a spider named Tarantula but this spider is unique, she wants to be near me and play with me. I the first time I was scared but the I just loved to play with her. I love my spider.

  23. The spider is such a weird little bug. So interesting and creepy at the same time. I know plenty of people who are terrified enough of them to want to run screaming every time one is spotted. Personally though, when I see the word the only thing I can think of is… Hover Spider! I was trimming a bush once outside our old house, and after taking a limb off and revealing a bit of the trunk, I saw this spider. It was so bizarre. Every time it moved it seemed to, well, to hover. You never saw its legs move. Creepiest weird little bug ever.

  24. The spider slides along the flat surface. a eight legged creature. So delicate, yet disgusting. EEEWWW SPIDERS!!!

  25. The spider crawled through its web. Not sure where to turn – whether to hide or stay still. It was forced into a sense of paralysis as the fly swatter got dangerously closer to the web. This has been its home for almost two months now. Who knew that theu would try to clear spiders out of the attic?

  26. the 8 legged creature. Unreal and creepy. Theycrawl lighlty and slowly like th wind. Hardly feel
    their touch.

  27. That’s what i htought of her as – a giant spider in the basement. I dreaded going to work. she was there a fat body wiht tentacle legs interfereing in everyones business.

  28. I don’t like spiders when they’re in the bathroom, especially at night. why do spiders like bathrooms? silly spiders you can’t swim, why choose the room in my house with the most water? thats just dumb. plus it has windows which more humane people will throw you out of. i wouldn’t flush a spider, i don’t wanna watch their little legs wiggle.

    Taylor
  29. Again with the spider? Really? I just write an entire monologue about how I suck at creative writing and how I need to practice to improve my mad skills. But then it wouldn’t let me submit because I forgot to enter my contact details. And so here we are again with “spiders”. Well what can I say? I never really liked them, but I try not to kill all of them because they kill other icky things

  30. i hate spiders their creepy crawly ways, the sinister catching and bundling of flies in silken webs. I suppose i should admire the ingenuity of nature in creating such creatures, self-spooling and agile, venomous or hairy, but I can’t. am i socially-programmed to fear them? probably. but i still do.

  33. The web is falling down, silken upon my head. This is your crown, the forest god tells me, and you would do well to learn how to use it.
What I didn’t know then was that with each strand I could spread myself outward. The expanding web represented my new ability to see everything and into everything around me. It was not beautiful, it was terrible and I could do nothing about it.

  34. Hairy big christmas tree-dwelling creature ready to pounce any minute now. Eight eyes on you. Hungry hairy spider. How will mum get rid of the christmas tree now?

    Jen de Montalk
  35. I’ve always been afraid of spiders. Never really understood why. I don’t mind snakes or lizards or bugs or other stereotypical creepy-crawlies, but spiders have always bothered me. It’s rather pathetic, actually.

  36. The spider slowly weaved its way across the opening. She watched in fascination as he built something so beautiful.

  37. There is a spider on the ceiling. Which way will it go? Left or right? Will it go fast or slow? Or will it fly!? Flying spiders are the worst.

    Nicole
  38. And the girl opened her mouth in a gasp, but no sound came out. The spider crawled around her picnic blanket, and she swore that it was looking straight at her. No matter that she wasn’t even sure if spiders had eyes, or how many. All she knew was that they had legs. Lots & lots of legs. And that was more than enough for her.

    Carly
  39. What she hated more than anything was spiders. Actually not the spiders themselves…nothing personal. It was their clingy, cloying webs that she hated and worse yet, the sensation of walking into one.

  40. Ambling slowly up with the steps it makes
Moving freely wherever it wants to go.
