A statement is an idea, it tells someone something, either concrete or finite. A statement shares and tells a story it is a mode of communicationg. A statement can be made in words or in actions. It can be quit or loud, hidden or prounced.

The bright pink hair with the electric blue eyeliner certainly made a statement. This girl was not one who would hide in the shadows.
The people today who try to make a statement’s usually fall flat on their face. They try too hard, making it hard on the other people to watch them. The people making a statement, usually, end up forgetting their original stance and let the media influence them.
This will make a statement, she thought as she looked down at the bright red heels she had slipped on. She was wearing no red in the rest of her outfit, but she didn’t care at that point. She was a successful business woman with a wonderful career, and this high school reunion, she wasn’t going to get shown up by a bunch of over-tan, beer-bellied but otherwise “anorexic,” always dieting, former cheerleaders just because she was pregnant with her fourth kid.
And, the bonus point: her husband was going to love them.
I want to make a statement in which others believe in. Some thing that others will agree with me and we can stand up large enough to make a difference. If I can accomplish this then I think that I would have the power to get things done for the better.

Bold or meek, it interprets what your mind wants to tell others. Confident or curious, a statement imparts knowledge or fear. It’s about the speaker and his thoughts, set to paper for eternity.

‘I miss you.’
It was a simple statement. One that he never heard.

one statement
written too fast
thoughtlessly
you tense up, freeze up
apologize
but it’s too late
and now you’re shaking
shivering
sobbing
wishing you could take it back
because you don’t mean it
or maybe you do
but you don’t want to
I don’t want to hurt you
but it’s just so hard sometimes
I don’t think we quite know what we mean when we say things.
Thoughts spew out of our mouths without a filter.
And yours was quite hurtful.
You insensitive arsehole.
So that’s how he saw it. It said so much about him, really, about how much he cared or rather didn’t. This statement, put just at the end of it all, in small letters, in a very “by the way” kind of tone. This seemingly insignificant piece of information that paralyzed me. Made me shiver, made me sick and laugh out loud hysterically. Because he did not want to make that much of a deal out of it. Well, tough. It was. To me it was.
“You must be joking?” i asked, looking at him in disbelief. “You really just said that?”
“What do you want me to say? Layla, I’m honestly sick of you on my back at all times. Well hey guess what? You’re not on top of the world.”
i crossed my arms, tears popping into my eyes, my throat tight, “I could say the same to you.”

i want to dye my hair for a reason. i want some color in it; a splash of green in a mostly black world. or a splash of blue. blue’s cool too. i want bright, obnoxious clothes for the same reason. i want to be me, not who somebody wants me to be. but with my parents that it so challenging. in this world, making a statement is challenging.
Anna
i have a statement.
how come all the cute boys are taken? how come i can’t have a boyfriend? i wish i had my permit. life is toooo short. i love my friends and family. :)
I’d like to make one. But really, how can one make a statement if they’ve no idea what to say? What do I stand for? Where in fact do I stand? What’s important enough to say?
It seems the most important thing to do is figure all that out first before wasting my breath.
Cassie Piccolo
It was just a simple statement. Small, quiet, very matter-of-fact. But it unravelled her whole world in seconds. Before she could even turn her face away from them, the tears came.
this is my statement: I love lime Popsicles. i also can make a statement with my outfit. im wearing a shiny lace top and black shorts. I make myself banana splits after sex. thats rlly all i gotta say pce bitchezzzz!

“What is wrong with this statement?”
It’s not a statement at all.
Only make a statement if you know what you’re saying is true, or if you really believe in it.
There are no stupid questions; only inquisitive idiots.
Say what you mean, mean what you say. Practice what you preach, preach what you practice. Tell what you know, know what you tell. State what you see, see what you state.
Hmm…a statement. A statement is not a question, but just a plain old sentence that states an opinion. I haven’t had many major statements to say to my friends of late. They already know my opinions on most things.
I took his statement at face value. I really wanted to believe he was just giving me history. Time will tell. If he is into all that weird stuff I hope I don’t get hurt. Nothing ventured nothing gained

i want to make a statment. in as little words as possible, with an impact as strong as a locomotive collision. what shall that statement be?
A statement can be many things, people can be offended by it or they can completely agree with it. When i think of the word statement i think of suits and briefcases…not sure why i just always have…But i think i need to realize that even the person that no body thinks about and every body ignores can have a statement in a conversation that makes people think. THey can also change the conversation but it never hurts to try.

The statement she made was seen with more than just her outfit. Of course, it oozed from her very expression. THe smug smile plastered in between her cheeks seemed to let the world know that she was here, and she had no intention whatsoever to leave. This was the new Lily.

Wouldn’t it be weird if we all talked in questions? How awful would it be if no one could make direct statements? Do you agree that it would be pretty awful? Am I correct in saying that we all take the concept of statements for granted?
Jetzt soll ich also was dazu schreiben. Ein Statement abgeben? Leut, die etwas aus Bequemlichkeit nicht machen, aber 1000 Gründe finden, die sie vorschieben, finde ich doof.

He came out with one an hour after we’d arrived. They had us all jammed into this little waiting room with blue cushioned seats and overhead lighting that buzzed and hummed. There weren’t any windows. Just a gold framed picture of a house with windows. There were two doors. One that we used and one they used. At quarter past nine he stepped into the room.

statement wow statements are powerful, you have to have courage to make a statement, statements can be silent, such as a fashion statement, talk. make words. be courageous. use statements. life is about making words fit and using them to their fullest potential.

statement in a afternoon was shot in all pink on a lang in stupid blurbs in the highway state in may for a single three shillings all up the wall on the gold part and everything what did we do that wasn’t for so long in the heat of my thinking jangling eardrums for ma lord, ma lord ma lord ma lord in the fifty threeminutes he was standing

When important people in life make statements, it brings a question to grasp to the ordinary ones. I think about when political people make us come down to Earth and make us believe that we are carbon cut robots sent down to make common household money or to believe that we are infinite.
the police detective cam close to Jim and whispered. “Just sign the fucking statement. You can walk out of here and your problems are over.” Jim leaned over the statement, picked up the pen, and broke it in half.

Tim looked up nervously at the nice woman with brown hair, and then back over to Michael.
“Do I have to?” His voice was weaker than he would have liked, and he couldn’t keep the tremble out of it.
Michael smiled, though Tim could see the worry behind his eyes, and put his hands on Tim’s shoulders. “They just want you to make a simple statement, Tim. That’s all. Don’t even look at Him. All you have to do is tell the truth, okay? Jan’s going to help you as best as she can.”
Tim glanced at the woman, and turned back to Michael. “And then I can live with you?”
“Absolutely.”
He took a breath, and let it out slowly. He squared his shoulders and tried to look brave.
“Okay.”
“But it makes a statement!”
She stared distastefully in the mirror at the beige garment splattered in black ink. He was so thrilled with himself and his “statement,” but she was just completely off put. She didn’t want to make a “statement.” She just wanted to be seen.

“statement” is a very nice word; it has a certain aesthetical beauty about it: in most fonts, all the letters but the t’s are equally large, and the length of the word fits the height of the letters beautifully.

“That statement was so false.” Her voice rang clearly through the quiet room. No one else had dared to say it, but now that it was out in the air the other students nodded hesitantly.
“She has a point, Professor. That doesn’t make sense…” ventured another, a quiet boy with blonde hair and a silly grin.
The professor looked uncomfortable, shifting on his feet. He wanted to say “That’s what they TOLD me to say”, but he couldn’t do that. He looked stupid enough as it was.
All he told me was ‘I can’t’
I tore off the bracelet that represented him
and thought I was done
Too bad I’m not.

he was stylish in a loud, obvious way. his clothes made a statement. the kind of statement made under duress, at 3.00am, in a hot police cell.
“You must be joking?” i asked, looking at him in disbelief. “You really just said that?”

I can’t believe the statement was made.
Was she really audacious?
Was it a compliment?

She always had to make a statement. No matter what was happening, she had to be the focus of everyone’s attention.
So when the president gave his statement, she went to the conference wearing a dress made of feathers.

This is a statement. As are all things that are said or written as a definite conclusion, rather than as a question.
