  20. A statement is not a hard thing to make. You take a thought that you believe in fairly strongly and you say it out loud, preferably with conviction. Then you make sure to put a period on the end of it, meaning no up-talking. i.e. No, “This is a grape, right?” Not a statement!

  21. It’s hard, to be struck so painfully by a single statement. To be trapped by the opinions of others- the opinions they force on me to ease their own feelings. This guilt swallows me whole. I fumble with weapons at the last minute and force myself to lift my head from the water. I want to eradicate the world’s pain, the world’s hunger for attention. I try. I always fail. I can give as much attention as possible to as many people as possible and it’s still not enough. They tell me that I’m just one person, but treat me like I’m an army. I would finish the job if I wasn’t scared of what would happen if I wasn’t there to soften the blows. In the meantime, they’ll kick me to the floor and I’ll lie there, a bloody mess, waiting for the light to shine in.

  22. I’d like to make a brief statement about the word statement. The second part is a suffix, “ment” and when it is added on to the end of a word, it turns that word into a noun. See “environment” and “governmenernmenteernmentrnment
