  3. Stems are on flowers. Flower are pretty. They remind me of sun, and summer, and freedom, and clear air, and blue skies. Blue skies always make me happy. I don’t know why, they just do. Something about the sense that the world is beautiful and happy and amazing. But that’s not true for everyone. Which makes me appreciate it even more.

    But me? I think of stems in the metaphoric sense: who (or what) holds you up?

  10. There was a pretty flower with a weak stem. The flower dreamed of growing tall and proud, to tickle the sky with her petals. She stretched and stretched towards the sun to no avail.
    Someone forgot to water her. Mother earth, why didn’t you pour your rain down on the little flower?

  17. We used pretend we were native americans, only we called ourselves indian. Shiloh’s name was Running Deer and mine was Meadow Flower. Running Deer would laugh and say my indian name sounded like a deodorant scent, but I liked it. As indians, we made stew from milkweed thistle, dandelion heads, and cattail stem. (We didn’t really eat it.)

  18. stems are flowers are really the most beautiful things, if you think about it. no matter how gorgeous the bloom is, it wouldn’t be there if not for the stem. stems are life. they provide food, support, everything for a flower. we always cut the stems but i think they are wonderful anyways.
