The flower was beautiful, it’s leaves cascading down the stem, the sun glistening on the tiny dew drops left by Jack Frost to form small priceless gems resting gently on the flower. As the stem bowed beneath the weight of the flower, a slight gust blew it backwards, sending the tiny flower bobbing to the sound of the wind.

i still remember that cold morning, lonely rose plant in our small garden, dew drops on the leaves, few transcending the thin stem leaving them halfway to touch upon the bare cold ground beneath.
when i smoke weed i take the stems out. sometimes i use a stem to clear my pipe. i also prefer wine glasses with a stem because you are supposed to hold it buy the stem. if you hold it by the main part you’ll heat the wine up and we dont want that. stem. mets backwards. EMTs.
A stem can be anything. A stem of a flower. A stem of creativity. A stem of genius. A stem is the beginning of something. Whether that something is beautiful or simply nothing is up to the creator.

one plump red rose stared at you from a vase full of flowers sitting on unprickled stems. just one. that is all.

The little bird was gliding through the clear sky, looking for a place to stop and rest. The grass below was dotted with leafy trees, but none was attracting the little bird’s eye. Finally, he found it, just a few meters away from where he was now. He folded his wings and dropped to the target. Within a few seconds of diving, the bird was already near the woody branch.
A crisp clack of claws marked the arrival of the little bird, who was now perched happily on the branch.
*Hahah, all right. I made a mistake with the stem-branch thing.
stem!~ the trees that have made leaves have stems that stem from trunks. from the trunks come food that feed the stems and makes them grow.

My life stems from my mother, who created me, my person, my identity. I can’t imagine what I would have been had I stemmed from another. I love her.

Janet sat looking at the rose – a beautiful, peach colored flower in full bloom. She thought to herself – “Satin petals, thorny stem, So like life.”
The stem of the plant was a pale green that slowly darkened to an emerald. The stem had no bud, as it had recently been bitten of by a young pup. It was a runt of it’s fellow spawn, and was rather disappointed at not being able to grow taller.

year after year they persisted in the tangle and suffocation of the neglected garden, ethereal blue, tall and graceful, delphiniums they called them, old fashioned cottage garden plants; it means dolphin, they don’t look like dolphins, but they have the blueness of the ocean, they spoke of the unending giving of nature, even when neglected and scorned. I came back and found the garden paved with carefully set bricks of pink and grey and I looked at the place that had been their bed and wondered if they were waiting beneath, imprisoned. What can still be saved, what will survive, what will come back and forgive and let us try again to live right? When I next see a tall, delphinium bending in a July breeze I will take it as a sign of forgiveness and another chance
the stem of the leaf was growing constantly, it never ended until it reached the clouds, nothing was wrong with being so high. “go on up” he said, “climb as high as you wish. remember jack? yeah he did it, and magical things happened.”

Wait, what? Oh, right. That’s not funny. I’m older than that.
The stem of life is actually more simple than everyone makes it seem. If you learn from your mistakes and do everything the way you wanted, it would most likely have a good outcome.

My love for you stems from the way you form your words.
Your hair.

Oh, oh.
And here I am, with some supposedly perfect boy – beanie-wearing, sarcastic, musical, kissable – but all I can think about is you. The little affirmations.
Stop them.
Well, don’t actually.
I don’t mean that at all, really.

So you cut the flowers off at the stem,” Miss Whelk said dressed in black at the head of the Horticulture class, “and then your arrangements will shine.” Miss Whelk then laid her head down. She said, “death and despair await you all. Why pretend there’s beauty?”
At the doorway, then appeared Thom Jenkins, her high school sweetheart who had fondled Chelsea Thompkins at the Prom, lo those many years ago. “I am so sorry; I love you!”
“Take five,” she said to her class, “and remember, always be delicate with the flowers. Tee-hee!”

The stem of the rose still stayed in my hands, of the rose that had once meant so much. In an instant, it was all shattered, the petals flowing away in pieces, like pieces of my heart. I clung to that stem, how could he do this? How could that rose be for someone other than me?
