  5. the stem of a flower should remind me of some metaphor, but it doesn’t. I have nothing even vaguely interesting to say about a ‘stem’. Does stem even mean what I think it means? It’s related to flowers right? Fuck. I’m not very fun at all, am I? Guess not. Hmmph.

  17. Stems are on flowers and flowers are pretty. Stem is also a verb. This is kind of a boring paragraph, I don’t really have much to say about stems. I suppose they are pretty important though, in order for flowers to get their nutrients. Yay stems!

  20. flowers are the best. i mean girls say they dont want flowers but personally there the best gift because there are so many flowers that one has to fit the person your giving them to. and the fact that they’re beautiful will remind the girl you give them to how beautiful they are too

  21. With my hands, I toyed with the plant stem before delicately slicing it in half with a pair of garden shears. As its leaves fell to my feet, a viscous green liquid came out of the decapitated shoot. I couldn’t help but wonder if this plant was bleeding, voicelessly protesting against the unnatural touch of my steel blade.

  33. The stem of the flower was thick, almost like a vein. Green, and somewhat moist, it stuck out of the soil with an unright ferocity.

    It was a shame that the flower did not match such a hardy stem.

    Withered, yellowed and brown around the petals… the flower was lousy, to say the least.
