Shoes use ’em. So do guitars. I think even Sting has a String or two. I wonder if we could string up Sting with a String
Arik Knapp
the beautiful string, how does it make me feel, like … its not beautiful at all, its a man made thing, its just their, it can be made to look nice, but really thats false beauty isnt it, its nothing much just a peice of spun string made to be larger than it is.

i was told to write about this peice of string, what shall i do. describe its adventures like the time i got caught in the kings teeth, and was imediately beheaded, or describe its love, the rope that just wouldnt accept it. the string lived a hard life never apreciated or loved back,. the string. the string . the string.

“that’s all she wrote,” he said, untying the string from the package left on his doorstop, “that’s just about the end of it.”
He was always a liar.

string me along
i never wanted to let go.
in fact i have always rather
wanted to be tied to your wrist
by a string of scarlet thread.
so knot it well
i don’t want to be left
behind.

In the planets of strings, many children die of cancerous strings. It is similar to dieting but with rap music mixed in. So many strings, so many cancers. Pilots can fly a string, but children cannot. Go to the store later tonight. Watch out for strings.

it’s fun to play cat’s cradle with… well it was when I was 8.
It always seems to disappear when you need it.
It’s on a kite.
It comes in a ball – well it can.

Following the simple red string through the house the child searched for the end. Having dropped the ball of yarn the path had to be followed so the mistake could be corrected. A simple ball of string, and a simple child together wove a story of mystery and magic. The string only the catalyst for the young child’s mind.

and sometimes i feel like nothing but a string
clinging to your heart
and at any moment
you could flinch
and i would snap
and i know its so likely to happen now my dear
i know that at any moment
you could decide to brush me off
or pull me away
and snap me
away from your heart

String is pulling on my fingers
and my fingers
are touching the string
that connects and holds steady.
String will pull me like puppet
I will do what whoever
holds them says
funny I don’t know who
that is.

A long narrow piece of life. hold on. it will take you into the world, away from pain and away from envy. It will lead you to the Lord, away from fear. This string, the gift of life. The gift of second chances. The greatest of all gifts really. Take it. Hold on. Let it guide. Breathe. Follow.

I love string. My mom used to make me fluffy soft blankets out of string and yarn when I was little and I loved it because it made me feel safe during thunderstorms and other scary things. I used to talk to my blankets when I was lonely or scared and they always made me feel like my mom was right there with me. Other good things that string can do are tie up people you don’t like to a tree or pull out your teeth if you tie it to a door knob. I used to do that when I was little as well.

I once ate a a piece of string cheese. It tasted similar to the smell of an old sock… If that sort of thing makes sense. Also… I sometimes sing the song, “My favorite thing” because of the line. “Brown paper packages tied up with string” cause thats the only part i remember

string theory. reminds me of this guy who did a comedy skit about this doctor’s office visit and he did a spiel about all the pain he was in from having his tibia broken. hysterical. i wish life was hysterical at the moment. its kind of sad. string is still a funny word. i dont know. maybe with mice and cheese and dangling and hanging and threading needles. bobbin. knitting. all types of string.

There is a string it is long and brown.
Made of old paper bags.
It holds the manuscript together.
It crinkles when you touch it.
I smooth it down as soon as I can.
I tie it into a pretty bow.
Tight.
Tighter.
and Tighter.
Finally its perfect.

The strings of a guitar are capable of making beautiful sounds when plucked. Not only do they have a long life, but the are extremely durable.

I lost it so long ago
and I’m following it back back
all the way to you
Let me untie these knots
let me be whole again
let my string pull you close

the little string
hanging off her dress
yet
she never cared
she never noticed
this was her day,
this was her time
it was her dress
and she loved it
she loved being in it
she loved it
her wedding dress
her wedding day
and the little strong never bothered her
not once.

i feel like a turkey. pop me into the oven. it’s just oh so skanky. like, i’m wearing more string than clothing. one crooked finger and i would be naked, vunerable, raped. reaped. i’m in danger, everything is telling me danger, but it’s more dangerous to be wearing a knife when held to reality with some thin string.
lena melinger
the cat chased the huge ball of string through the house rolling and flipping like a trapeeze artist at the circus. she seemed infactuated with the bright greens and blues in the ball of string. she would bat it about then grabit and roll through the room. it had taken me 5 days to roll that string up for her and it was worth every finger numbing minute to sit and watch her curiosity now. I hope to find something someday to ammuse myself this way!!

useful
ties things together
it is kind of like the anti-breaker
Like glue but not as messy

Calluses build on rosebud fingers from holding down hard metal strings. I take special care of my G-String, which I think is about to break. Hopefully he won’t notice–my god of hand-clapped rhythms and dark skies in foreign counties. He is the symbol of everything serene and true, of the music that flows through us, connects us all to each other and to the earth. I want to know every inch of his darkly tanned skin, his soft lips parted in a clean white smile, his soulful brown eyes…I want to know him again, as I knew him then, when our souls melted together on that distant bus in the distant past.

Guitar.. music…. by far the best thing you will ever know. The melody that comes is better than sex.. better than life in itself.. more powerful and more meaningful than the words you say. I love you music :)

A piece of this will get you out of trouble or take you down to your knees. Use it it wisely but don’t downplay the simplicity of its design to save a bag of water on a churnning sea or to break your leg as you walk down a flight of stairs.

Hanging by one. Pull it. It can be your lifeline. It can be tenuous or tough.

the string that connects us all. i saw a picture of the red string in a photograph when I was in israel. and it spooked me because I was wearing a red string myself – one that I bought off of a beggar on Ben Yehuda street. when I gave a donation of $5 shekels, the man tied the red string around my left wrist, asked my name, and said a blessing to me. He said that the string would remind me that we are all connected to each other. That i am not alone and that someone is thinking of the god things Ive done.
Debra Fricano
long, thin, dangly and best for tying in a knot to remember things like Winnie the Pooh does. “As long as a piece of string” they say, what does that mean? and also, if a piece of string is really that long then surely it doesn’t mean anything.
Joel Diamond
I have a piece of yellow string. I found it on the ground, amongst a bunch of daisies. How I spotted it, I don’t rightly know. But it is the prettiest yellow I’ve ever seen. I think I’ll name it Claire.

A string of something can lead you somewhere, can dissapoint you, and even entertain you. A string could do many hurtful, loving, or blank things for you. It’s up to you to decide what this string will do to you.

stringing together thoughts to put on page is ultimately stupid after a while. it seems endless, your combinations, but there really is only a few options. in the end its all the same thing. nothing is original. maybe your thought but not your words.

a string connects the sleeping to the wakeful by a dream of sleepy crusties that come from one’s eyeball. it’s gross, but beautiful at the same time for it is the crustiness that represents beautiful rest. such a string connects us all, crusty-like!

Strings tie us together, allow the world to flow in never ending stories and lives. Tell me your story, let me change the worlds perception of the nothingness that you believe you are…Tell me who you really are and let me be your voice to the outside.
