  11. substance is what everything is made of. Let’s ake it apart. The first part is sub. This means beneath or below. The second part is stance which is one’s position of something. So the real meaning of the word is to be below a position. This is intersting because this have a negative connotation in my mind. I just don’t know what to say.

  13. Everything is a substance, it affects all things even those insubstantial – see what I mean? Substance is often misspelt, but all the same, it’s always there. There is the substance of dreams, the substance of life, the substance of love… Other people could say ‘stuff’ instead, but substance is better. More eloquent.

A substance can be anything that sounds vaguely scientific, but is usually a scientific way of referring to something gross. Like, a substance just dripped out of your nose and onto your collar, dude.

  17. We have many substances around, some abused some used for good purposes. It is my sincerest belief that any substance that can be used for evil purposes can also be used for good purpose. There really is no evil substance, just evil uses. So, it isn’t the substance that is the problem, it is the abuser of the substance.

  20. so many things are substance-filled, substantial. but is substance, really? we don’t know. it is just a word we use to describe things that mean something, that have some sort of [substantial] value. but we don’t have a concrete value for the concreteness which we describe with this word. is there really substance in anything we do? does this meager little paragraph actually have any substance?

  25. A lot of material and a lot of fullness, many people would love to have a lot of this as they get older but not many wish it when they are younger. It is the reason a lot of ppl. work all ther lives. The majority of us never seem to get it whether it be food, money,or character. Still when all is said and done substance can not be treated as a thing of non-importance.
