Don’t peek
sun-sliced dark
moon moon
splinter can pierce
seeing eye –
never to moongaze
again.

Sun, shine on me today for I am tired and weary, brighten my eyes and warm my body. Let me soak you up like the dandelions, give me strength to burst through the concrete and smile even when I feel unwanted. May I echo you like they do, a galaxy of small suns, soft enough to touch and then gentle and swift enough to carry wishes.
Warm blazing bright and beautiful on a coastal, windy day, defrosting bones and chicken thighs fillets from the freezer, making rosy red circles on my kids cheeks.
The sun was shining down and filling my heart with sorrow. The last time the sun shone, was the last time I saw her. She was the sun. She was my orbit. and now she was no longer under the big blazing star with me. She was somewhere beyond. And I didn’t know how to go on without her.

The sun’s rays felt like radiation, she thought as she walked across the street. She imagined the ultraviolet and x-rays streaming from newborn stars which light up the surrounding nebula. While the temperature did not reach those extremes, she was grateful to under under the shade of a tree.
