  1. Sturdy, all in a row. Sometimes clean and shiny. Rough when old. Rough but worn and smooth. Smells of chalk and erasers. Old wood covered in hot melted plastic laminate. Not real. Not elaborate. Just governmental issue. Chewed gum stuck under the edges and you want to touch it but you can’t. Tests, standardized, groups and clusters, separate, learnig levels.

  3. Tables hold my every secret; they are the most essential aspect of my life. The paper which I reveal my deepest darkest thoughts on rests on a table. I spend evenings growing closer to my family and friends at the table. The food which fuels my body lies on a table. Without tables my life would be empty.

  8. I like tables that are made of wood. Wood is a really nice material. It is hard and durable. You can lie on top of tables and feel pretty stable. Lying on a wooden table I think about the trees it is from and I love thinking about trees. Their leaves make a coolness. Isn’t that nice, they create a coolness? I really like it. Also tables are so extremely useful, and I like that in an inanimate object.

  10. tables are good to eat on…or stand on whichever you prefer. I prefer to turn it upside down and try to stand on one of the legs.. now thats what a table is used for. Whatever you please!

  14. tall chairs and stuff always makes me think of tables i dont know why and i dont know what i am writing and i wish i understood the purpose of this game lol…long tall chairs keep coming to my mind and then a restuarant pops into my head and then i imagine i am in Greece all over again and then i dont know what else to say about this word because tables are just tables and they’re cool to use and stuff

  15. Carrie grew more and more concerned that she wouldn’t be able to remember the multiplication table. Her mother had been riding her hard all week and today was the day of the big test. There were tears in her eyes and fear in her heart. Which just succeeded in clogging any hope of remembering ANYTHING at all. With a hard sigh, she pushed through the hoards of students in the hallway and stumbled into her math class. Mr Hart had already passed out the tests as she took a seat at her desk, wiping the sweat from her brow, Carrie took out her pencil and waited for the bell to ring.

  16. tables are commonplace. I have one in my bedroom, I put my printer on top of it. we have one in the kitchen, that’s where I used to eat meals. I eat at my desk now, but that’s not much of a table. tables are communal, they are for families and friends, and sometimes I find tables to be such a faraway concept. four legs, and a top, stable, a lot of things I am not.

  17. are good for food friends and good nights. always provide warmth and some sort of comfort. are stable, stand level on four legs and are constant. never waiver or become weak, theres something sturdy about them. are always bulilt with the same design in mind but are never exactly the same, kind of like people

  21. Tables not only help people hold things up but they are the only thng in life we are certain of. They are the balance. the act of dependance. They hold your belongings, your important things, they hold the most and the least of something. THey make a room look nice. They brighten things. They strengthen things. Tables come in many different sizes and shapes but one things remains the same: they help. They are strong. in a life full of imbalances, they are the balance, our support.

  28. I don’t miss you. But I do miss our table and the sweet summer days we spent there. I remember wishing that time could freeze and thinking that you were the only one who ever really saw me. Remembering these moments and how quickly they can fade away makes me wonder if anything matters at all.

  29. All I remember is the announcement: “Tornado Warning in Effect”. Rather than panic, as I had obviously done, you turned it into to game, to calm my nerves.
    “You know, honey, they say that if you hide under a table, you’re safer than out in the open. Why don’t we build the best fort we can, and nothing can hurt us”.
    Although I knew it probably wasn’t true, it seemed better than crying on the couch.

  30. We sat at the table playing checkers in a little coffee shop down the road from our university. three girls and one guy. I had never hung out with him, but the others had. he was really cool, and he had his arm around me most of the night. it was nice. i can still feel the prickly feeling from his light shadow on his chin.

  32. there are tables in class with writings on them, etchings and drawings and stupid, silly, sentiments. i use the tables to hide my stomach, use the tables to put my arms on, use the tables to write on. sometimes i put my head down, sometimes i fail a quiz, sometimes i just sit. tables are a strange concept, if you think about it, but they do make a hell of a lot of sense. even the dirty ones.

  33. people like to sit at tables even though they dont know how to build them we have lost carpenter skills jesus built do they always have to have leg? sit around and enjoy the company hopefully if not arguing about work politics or money. more importantly for my family dinner and entertainment

  34. are rectangular and awesome. they hold my daily things. my empty water bottles. my stuffed animals and various toys i play with when i don’t feel like doing actual work. everything it holds is organized accordingly to my deranged and partly false priorities.

  35. I sit at a table and eat food. Mmmm. Yummy food. I enjoy pasta, especially spaghetti… did I spell it right? Spaghetti? SPAGHETTI MONSTER!!! Tables have wooden legs, which were considered a phallic symbol in the 1800’s and covered up! Weird right? Everyone LOVES phallic symbols.
