A barren desert, the sun shining down on me with all of its power. There’s nothing but vast sand dunes and few shrubs. No animals are in sight, no lizards or birds. Thirst drives me onto find an oasis or nearby town. I think I’m alone for I can’t find anything. Why?

I’m so thirsty I just want to die. Its so hot out this June day in summer, and I would love ot be in a cool room instead of working outside in this disgusting heat. I wish there was some way I could have some lemonade, because that would help my thirst. I can’t believe they made me come in to work today when it was my day off, why couldn’t I just say no, then I wouldn’t be complaining like I am now, but I really needed the money. So, now I’m just going to suck it up and continue working, but I can’t work, omg….why can’t this day go faster, maybe I can sneak out of here and go find a pool to jump in, then I can sneak back into work like nothing ever happened, it would be like I was always here, but no one would know it…ohh that sounds wonderful, but I know its not going to work with the freakin boss constantly looking at us.

my parched lips parted

the others were drenched
the desert was dry
she was alone
the others were swimming

I have drank a lot of water today. It’s hot here in Chicago and I cannot seem to get enough water. 81 Degrees in April is not what we are use to here but its been a great day. Except the need to drink a lot of water. In fact I think I’ll get some more water now.

Its always there、I’m always feeling it. Unquenchable it makes my head spin, my mouth dry. I wish it would just leave me, I cannot make it leave on my own. Maybe one day it will, until then I will carry its weight on my shoulders.

Thirst for blood, thirst for vengeance. Thirst to ring my hands around your beautiful, elegant neck. Thirst to pay you back for all the fighting and the cheating, all the lies. Thirst to make you regret every last one you ever told me. I will quench my thirst with your cries for mercy, for forgiveness, which will forever go unslaked.
I was thirsty in the desert
It was a day of hell and I couldn’t find a sip for my dried lips
I kept thinking of Horse With No Name and felt similar to the singer
And I felt like a philosophical weirdo

when I’m thirsty I usually go straight to the refrigerator or the sink and begin to fill a glass up with water. The best was when I was a child and after a long day of playing outside, we’d come into the air conditioned house for some cold water. We’d all stand around the water dispenser in agony as it slowly filled our glasses.

theres nothing but this thirst I have. I have searched and searched and it seems to be you that is the only thing that cures it. I seem to have this thirst for love. This unquenchable thirst to be held and loved by you. to be nothing but yours. to wake up everyday knowing you’re there. and you always will be. I want nothing more than to just be yours.

A thirst for the poison.
If you take enough,
you’ll never wake.
In purgatory it’s foggy.
You don’t know this or that.
Why am I here?
You never woke,
but it’s a bit beautiful here.
Walking through walls.
Crying blank, foggy tears.
When was the last time you couldn’t stop smiling?
“There she is,” Marshall whispered to Davy. Davy rolled his eyes and didn’t bother to look toward the door. “Oh Cindy,” he fluttered his eyelashes as he taunted his friend. “I love, love LOVE you. Please marry me and let me have your children,” he continued. “Oh shut it,” Marshall hushed him and forged once again into the fray of getting Cindy to notice him. Cindy sauntered up to the bar. “I have a thirst…” “For knowledge?” Marshall tried to end Cindy’s sentence. “Uh, no,” she replied. “I have a thirst…” “For power,” he supplied this time. “Oh hush up,” she cried. “No, dude. I have thirst for a rum and coke.”

I really want some water. I am very thirsty. Or maybe I am thirsting for life and fun and enjoyment. Or maybe I want love. Sometimes I feel like I am not loved. But I give out my love to everyone. Maybe that’s why I am thirsty. Or maybe I just want water.

Sometimes it is simple. Thirst is just for water. or for a hand to hold. for the feel of my cat’s fur under my fingers.

Thirst is unquenchable. Never is the want for more ever to be sated, never to be fulfilled. It only grows as what it seeks is given, and demands for more.

hunger, longing, perhaps even desire or lust. you thirst for something, you want it. yet, thirst is need. but do you need, or want? How can you know? how do you discern between it. thirst… such a curiosity.

i’m thirsty. sometimes, i want to get ice tea. sometimes i want to drink alcohol. i find that softdrinks are the best with quenching my thirst but they’re ridiculously unhealthy. i also thirst for companionship. that’s weird isn’t it. that that word could be used in 2 different ways. but people die of thirst all the time.

thirst is an interesting concept. hunger and thirst are said to go hand in hand, and each idea has a specific type of essence that the idea is fixated on. Thirst is something that is quenched by a liquid and cannot hope to fill the void in your stomach that maybe a hamburger or slice of pizza would do. I appreciate thirst, I feel as if thirst is there to remind you first and foremost, to stay hydrated. However, thirst allows each individual to develop a taste for certain drinks they prefer. When we are thirsty we usually think of the best drink for the job. Whether its hot or cold, early or late, there seems to always be a beverage that fits in the “just right” category. What is thirst when one is not thirsty? Some have said there is a thirst for knowledge that exists. I can neither prove this nor disprove this but I feel I can agree with this idea, because if treated as such, Knowledge and Wisdom, Facts and Fiction, can all be used as a fluid or beverage. We intake ideas from all kinds of mediums and sources, however, some of these experiences stay with us more prominently then others. And as we drink these ideas in, we forced to pick our favorite, and discard the less convincing convictions. And yet we still must continue to learn and allow even the smallest parts of this world to nourish us continuously, with different ideas affecting our thoughts and actions everyday.

This word is overused in certain progressive clergy circles when trying to describe their reasons for joining the ministry. I have an immediate, eye-rolling reaction to this word, because my cynicism about the church has become almost palpable in the past three years. I wish I could find a way to care about organized religion.
