It was a dark, intense night, and the weather reflected upon it. The loud cracks and clashes of thunder roared across the vast, broken angry black clouds. The rough sea was plagued with large bolts of bright amplified lightening, striking in-between there and the rocks which lay below the cliff. The small, wooden house which stood but a very few meters from the edge contained a family, of which the romance had fled, love was non-existant and there only was the tense feeling of divorce. A man, growing hairless in age and from stress crashed through the door, leaving it open and got into his car, driving down the narrow pathway. He never returned.
little girls with hair so tangled by the blanket that embedded the two in warmth and comfort shrieked with joy as they heard the storm outside their houseboat boom. They didn’t notice their father’s face flush gray, but they looked up in time to see the back of his weathered head ascend onto the deck.
It thrashed against my window, rumbling my house endlessly. Angrily. So full of anger that it washed away mine as I sat there, listening to the thunder of the night.

Thunder boomed like it came deep out of a throat like a voice of a god–not god with a capital g because who believes in that anymore?–and the window rattled and shook and I swear to god–that’s with a capital g because you never know,do you?– that the glass was going to shatter into a million silver shards, each a tiny mirror, each reflecting every one of my sins.

The thunder roars over head and the lighting flashes. You run into my arms. I feel your little body shake with fear, so i make soothing noises and squeeze you closer. You settle as you know i will never let anything hurt you. It is moments like these i realize that i do wish i had children of my own…
The booming of thunder. I can feel the sound rush through me. It calms me. It soothes me. The louder it gets, the better it makes me feel. Although I know that it means the storm is closer, I find comfort in that.

My dogs hates thunder unless we are tucked in bed all together
Love the sound of thunder on rainy day. My shed amplifies it and it really is loud. My dog does not like the sound of thunder. He hides or just watch every one hooping and hollering.
Yolanda Hidalgo
growing up, we used to say that thunder was the sound of God bowling in Heaven. Now I know better – it’s the sound of His majesty, might and power. He controls the universe, it’s flow, it’s sounds. His voice is thunder.

The thunder is a symbol of power. It rumbles, scaring some, empowering others. But it’s a signal of destructive storms, but also of life-giving rain.

Thunder is veryy scarey. It can be loud. My dog hides under the bush everytime it thunders. Thunder heralds the storm is coming.

Loud, like the sound lightning makes. Goes with the yellow flash. Thunderclaps are awesome, as they shake everything around, under the dark clouds of a rainy day.

The reclosing of air afer being split open by a lightning bolt. Rule of thumb: every5 seconds from flash to sound is one mile

THunder. Well, thunder only happens when it’s raining. Or so it should be. Stevie Nicks put the two together, in song, describing the excitement and thrill of a first meeting bearing all excitement. THunder only happens when its raining. This is a good thing.

its so loud, energetic, yet at the same time… calming. when i hear thunder, i remember that even something that seems so powerfully frightening, it is still something that adds to the balance, and therefore the beauty, of the atmosphere.
Nishtha
Thunder and lightning. The combination is scary. Count the time between the lightning and the thunder and you can figure how close the storm is. It works for me.

Lightning. Crashing dark, dramatic nature. Danger, excitement and suspense.

I missed a real thunderstorm when I was in England. I saw a few flashed of light, maybe, once or twice – that is, if I didn’t imagine them. there’s nothing, though, that can top a good stor. Watching them roll in over Lake Michigan, the hiss of rain meeting water, and someone’s parent yelling for you to come in out of the storm.
Thunder is roaring in the sky. The sky is awesomely lit before that. I could see his face. The monster had grabbed me by the scruff of the neck. I was sweating like a pig.

When I was younger, me and my Father used to sit on my porch and watch the storm pass over head. the sounds we heard were astounding! with a boom here and a zap there we knew we weren’t too far from the eye of the storm!
Thunder, I love it. The violence the noise, fantastic. Throw in some forked lightning and I’m a happy bunny. I also like the rock band thunder!

Loud; Like a million waves crashing against the shore all at once.

Thunder is scary. All you will hear is booming and crashing. Most often heard when it is raining/storming. When i hear thunder, it scares the shit out of me, so i usually run and hide in someone’s room or something. Or i hug someone. LOL idk man. But its loud and ugly. And yeah that’s pretty much it. Ladeedeeda. Hahahahahahhaha. I like balls. And soup.

Thunder is something that is large, something that is powerful and loud and can change all our senses momentarily. The sound cis also soothing and relaxing and doesn’t actually show up in my life as much as I would like. Thunder makes me reember being a kid and playing in the rain and running down the street and jumping in the puddles withg the sound of thunder rolling in the back ground. Or the monsoon season in Arizona when the crack of thunder would mean a down pour was about to begin. Thunder is a life force and one of the amazing aspects of human nature. I wouldn’t wish to have life without thunder in it. Thunder is amazing. God bowling :o)
I hear the thick rumbling of thunder before it turned into heavy claps. Then, eventually, it sounder like the rolling of drums. Frightened by the onset of a furious storm, I left him. I never returned.

The flashing light fills the sky, as plump droplets of water fall everywhere. A loud rumble fills my ears, the thunder claps are so loud I know the storm is right above me. I stand in the rain, watch the flashes of lightning and listen to the lovely, loud thunder.
