  8. I have an ocean. All i hear is a tide. long wind and my sister hears it too. we are mermaids on this ocean as the tides go by, in and out, in and out, again, and again. its sooo beautiful on this island of noisy tides as we so closley watch it going in and out, in and out.

  12. I’ve never been to the ocean.. Are there only tides at the ocean? I’ve been to beaches, but wait, what exactly are beaches? I mean, what body of water are they? Not rivers, lakes maybe. Who knows, not me. Time is running out. So it goes.

  30. Noise. Buzzers. Splashing. Screaming.

    Six on five, Jessica’d been ejected. The game was tied, 5-5. The ball was skirted around the outside of my defense’s set up, inching closer .. closer, to where I anxiously waited. Number six pops herself up from the water, lobs the round, yellow sphere towards my back right corner.

    I reach back .. launch myself out of the water ..
    feel it graze against my fingertips, as I pull it back down in front of me.

  35. The tide is controlled by the moon. When the tide is high, the water comes up onto the beach pretty far. When the tide is not high, the water doesn’t come up as far. Tides can ruin sandcastles and messages written in sand. But tides help make waves, I think.

  39. the tide comes and goes, with the moon. things come and go, life comes and goes. the tide shows that even when something is taken from us, it will come back, more and better than it was before. and then it is taken away again, and when it is given back to us, we forgive.
