  7. Just another thing I was told long ago, sold on the healthful, genuine goodness of this manmade food…

So much of my existence lately is deciding whether or not to believe in the fairy-tales of my past–wanting so much for the utopia to be true, to believe that purity and perfection exist.

But maybe, just maybe, the utopia sold to me was the wrong one, if for no other reason than it was not mine. I do not need over-processed, watered-down, let-me-protect-you-from-yourself nourishment any more.

That doesn’t nourish me; it is eating me from the inside out. I’m just baffled it took me this long to discover the truth I should have known from the start.

  8. I don’t particularly like tofu. I suppose I might have to eat some now that I’m becoming vegetarian. Not a very appealing prospect. I imagine all tofu being white and cubed. This is obviously a misconception. I’m told they can change the flavor. This seems highly appealing.

  9. why is the word still fucking tofu????
    can’t we discuss something deeper?
or with a little more room for interpretation on how the word was meant to be used?

  10. This is a supposedly healthy food made of soybeans that people use in place of meat to provide their source of protein, Ive never actually tried the stuff, but the idea interests me. I would have tried it awhile ago but the stuff is so damn expensive and i have no idea how to cook it.

  11. Tofu? Tofu. Never had tofu. It doesn’t really sound all that appealing to me… not as a food, anyway. As a projectile, though, it sounds quite effective — sort of like shotgun shells, but with the simultaneous benefit of solving world hunger. Admittedly, it wouldn’t be the best of solutions, but… hey, it’s a step in the right direction, right? Right.

  12. Tofu….hmmm…I have never actually eaten or indeed seen tofu…But I have been led to believe that it is some form of health food…a substitute for meat?…cheese?…both?…Who knows…although I am sure somebody does…but unfortunately…or fortunately it isnt me…

  16. Never will I EVER resort to eating tofu. Never will I EVER resort to becoming a vegetarian. Cows and pigs and chickens were put on this earth for a reason, and that reason is to make damn good food.

  23. tofu. the essence of vegetarians. ive always wanted to be one, but i knew i would crack if i ever smelled bacon. i mean who could give up bacon? i swear, once tofu was alive! my aunt ordered it at a store and when she went to the bathroom i saw it move right on her plate. no open breezes. just pure giggle movement.

  24. God, what is going on. it’s just food. Something that someone consumes to stay alive. Just because it is different doesn’t mean its disgusting. and maybe if we tried something different from a different culture we could learn to live in peace.

    Kaitlyn
  25. Tofu is a fake kind of meat. It tastes a little like rubber. Tofu is like a bad relationship. It sounds like it’s a good, healthy idea until you take a bite of it and you just want to spit it out.

    Alex
  26. Tempura tofu from Shogun:) definitely better than meat.:) miso soup! but gross when its not completely cooked.

  27. Its not sweet, yet it rests and builds on my breath, not bad not bitter. Swinging jelly. Molars they balk. I dont know why they are always flavoring tofu to taste like meat.

  28. Tofu is a Japanese speciality. It has a mild taste and it’s very healthy. You can eat it raw, you can cook it or fry it. You can use it for salty or sweet dishes.

  30. soft fleshy and tasteless, the substance takes on flavours of the food around it, like an edible vampire, it absorbs the essence of what ever it comes into contact with. it’s good for you though which is better than most encounters with vampires. although i wouldn’t know because I never met one. tofu isn’t my favourite food tho, but hey, it’s ok.

  32. i really love/hate eating tofu. white, squishy, tasteless, spongy. the first time i ate good tofu was in disney. i was in a table shaped like a car at the drive in movie themed restaurant. it was mango flavored, i believe. the movie playing was teenagers from outer space. it was dark. i wasn’t in love.

  34. Squares of nasty white stuffing. Shouldn’t be eaten, shouldn’t be cooked. maybe would have tasted better with salt? Why not just eat meat. I mean, you don’t anyways. So don’t eat tofu unless you want to support farmers.

    nicci gras
  35. I love eating tofu. You can eat tofu with everything. You can eat it in salads, with pastas, it is full of proteins and give you strength. Being a vegetarian it is excellent for my health.

  36. tofu is the stuff of dreams. no, really. It tastes like nothing, fills you up and is good for you. This means you can eat as much as you like. Like being the key word. If you truly like tofu, i’d like to meet you and shake your hand.

  37. I ate tofu once, it wasnt that great. I don’t really enjoy food that doesn’t seem to come naturally from the earth. There was something about the texture of tofu that caught me off guard. I hate it. Makes me want to vomit…
