  1. I was preparing for a house tour at six when the world ended. Jane and her husband Craig never did get to see the bay windows, freshly vacuumed carpets and small room we shoved a bed into to hike up the asking price. Perhaps they perished in the blast, or maybe they just fled. Whatever happened, they missed out. I made cinnamon cookies.

  2. Tour de force. That’s what Daniel thought. Not the tour part, but the force part. Every day a new place, new people, new sights, new sounds and his mind screaming for quiet and the world that no longer existed.

  3. Tour, I’ve been on a few. The main one that I can remember is the tour we went on when we were on holiday in Greece. We went to a couple of the Greek Islands and I had so much fun on that tour. I was around twelve. I can remember being in complete shock, it was beautiful. Blue waters. Dolphins. The way people lived astounded me; walking up the steepest hills I’ve ever seen paving on carrying packs of shopping on their backs. Donkeys, no cars. Cobbled streets. White bungalows. Huge ships selling goods on the docks. The sound of seagulls. I did get sunburn but I’ll always remember that trip.

  4. She gives me the grand tour of her castle like any bona fide princess would do. Proudly she announces her castle has 45 rooms. “We’re small,” she says, “But we’re pure gold. Ten bathrooms, 9 with solid gold fixtures, one with sterling silver for the help should they need one. Fifteen bedrooms, two libraries, one for serious students, the second for the porn, three kitchens for our three cooks. We may be small, but we’re ample enough to suit our needs.” She is a proud one, head-tossing, nose up high in the air. Would that she were pretty enough, I’d ask to see one of the bedrooms with her. As it is, I disdainfully say that we thought it would be a bigger castle, that we won’t buy this one.

  6. I’ve always wanted to tour Europe. It’s not like I need to go everywhre, but just the overriding freedom of touring Europe with no kids, drinking and eating, sleeping whenever. All of that sounds so fabulous. I want to go to London. Paris. I think Rome. Maybe Athens. Is Athens still a place? I just want to see all the historical sites and say, “Hey, I’ve been there.” And I want Aaron with me.

  7. An idea of taking a tour of the neon signs in mesa, arizona intrigued me. as i leave on my journey toward the southwest, images of days gone by float in my mind, of simpler times where tv’s gave new hope and social media was sitting around the kitchen table rather than the bright light of mobile devices.

  13. I went on a tour of the base and found its facilities lacking. The barracks were gross, and quite small. No one seemed to care about its upkeep or its appearance. This isn’t the Marine Corps I remember from my days in uniform.

  14. An endless American highway – scuttling clouds the color of milk gone off – a bus fuming – its worn-out parts are vocal and inside they blast music and shout to drown out the mechanic noises…

  17. The tour “bus”, from the ship, was nothing but a rubber raft with no motor, and it was late leaving the rear hull. The takeout was within sight as the oversized cruise liner beeped their little horn, and turned to the left. By the time their paddles hit the water they were lost in the wake of the ocean bus, riding high and low. And then they went for a swim. -How do you beat boredom?- Adventure!

  18. We went for a bike ride around my old university campus and took a tour of downtown, where I could see that the Rustic Coffee Stop had been replaced by a quaint, purple-tinged cupcake shop, and the diner where I also got a grilled cheese and tomato soup had been remodeled and was now serving way more customers. We stopped for a drink of water, our foreheads warm and wet with perspiration, and my friend turned my attention to the nearest street corner.

  20. Working as a tour guide is an amazing way to make money on the go, especially if you’re a student or looking for a part time gig. It is suitable for travelers and expats and can compliment your journey as it makes sure you have the trivia down.

  21. Taking a tour can be a fascinating adventure, or it can be a boring waste of time. It really depends on what a person is intrigued by and also who is along for the ride.

  22. If she were a country, I imagine she would be an island somewhere in the Mediterranean. A beautiful place that I would dream of taking a tour of.

  23. The things you go on when you go to a national park or a scenic spot or some other important place. The best ones offer complimentary protein bars and bottled water. One thing I’ve noticed, is whenever you go on a tour, there’s always a guy in front of you, walking along and talking the entire way. I’m not kidding, every single time. There’s no tour I’ve been on where there wasn’t a guy talking in front of you.

  27. They took a tour of the castle. It was one of the first stops on the beginning of their world tour, the one that Chrysanthemum booked for them before she was called away by her parents. Zacky was minimally impressed with the layout of the place. It was just like he expected to be, typical, boring, and completely unoriginal. He didn’t understand how their girl, their manager and his best friend had come from this place. Their girl was so much better than this. She had become so much more.

  28. He clapped his hands, “So, the tour?”
    “Yeah, okay.”
He motioned with his head towards the kitchen, “So, kitchen.”
    “Good, you need a kitchen.”
