There was half a seat and no room for her feet, crammed into the car door with skin pressed against cold glass. Comical, really. The trip was long, going through beautiful scenery as the road ascended the mountain. The road curved back and forth along the switchbacks, and opened up the view of the forests and the mountains in the distance. She remembered this scenery when she took the same trip again, ten years later but now the scenery included deforested hills and scars from the work on the hydro-power projects.
